PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Taseon Inc., San Jose, California 2007 – Present

Telecommunication equipment vendor involved in building the industry’s first Open DWDM Transport

System.

Co-Founder/Chief Software Architect (with job functions of VP Software Engineering)

Head of software engineering to deliver embedded system, EMS/NMS and Network Design Software.

Architect TN320 system software. Define system software behavior. Work with CTO, CSO, VP

Sales/Marketing to deliver technical specification and software based on marketing requirements.

• Dual role position that allowed hands on work as well as management.

• In-time and in-budget delivery of embedded, EMS/NMS and Network Design Tool software for

Taseon’s flagship product.

• Built a strong 27 member team and directed the software group to complete GA release using

agile methodologies.

• Provided strategic guidance and thoughts for design and development of complex software

initiatives supporting strategic business plans.

• Defined embedded system architecture and system behavior specification to deliver an optical

platform with high degree of automation.

• Dealt and Negotiated with third party software vendors and handled escalations when

necessary.

• Designed and implemented core modules and application frameworks.

• Prepared system software presentations for customers and potential partners.

Intellambda Systems, Fremont, California 2003 –

2007

A telecommunication equipment vendor involved in building IPoDWDM solution.A Hybrid system

consisting of packet aggregation shelves containing OC48C, OC192C and GbE interfaces, and a

transport shelf. Quickly accelerated through the ranks based on proven design and implementation

skills, and development-team leadership skills.

Chief Software Architect 2006-2007

• Defined and projected the next generation software architecture of the ILS640 platform that

would be standards based and telecommunication grade.

• Led group of 6 engineers, conducting integration activities, evaluating third party software and

initiating product enhancement projects. The results of these efforts led to new software

architecture put on paper.

• This software architecture along with other efforts went into bringing Taseon Inc. into being

when Intellambda Systems ran out of operational budget.

Principal Software Engineer 2005

• Handled several software modules at various levels within the embedded software sphere.

Apart from primary responsibility towards the routing engine following modules were being

successfully designed and implemented by me: Ethernet communication architecture within the

ILS640 system, ASON based Call/Connection manager, several interface managers, driver

software and adding functionality within the IP stack of Linux kernel.

• Consistently and successfully able to produce high quality design and implementation that was

recognized by the company.

Member of technical Staff 2003-2005

• Architected, designed and implement routing algorithm and protocol that accommodated

multiple optical constraints for an all-optical DWDM mesh network comprised of optical

switching nodes.

• Paper to prototype showcasing proof of concept was completed in 6 months followed by actual

in-system implementation and unit testing over a span of 1 year. System testing followed.

• 11 Patents were produced in relation to my work.

Deusco Technologies, Mumbai, India 2000 – 2003
