2008-2009: Jazz.com (internet): Writer and editor. Wrote reviews of music
CDs, DVDs and concerts and contributed encyclopedia biographies and
historical articles. As editor, I supervised and guided several writers in
creating track reviews and then published them on the website, using basic
HTML. Shortly after I went full-time, the website ran out of funding.
However, the website is still online and my writings can be accessed there.
2008-2009: Affinity Group (Good Sam Club), Englewood, CO: Member services.
Took inbound calls from Good Sam Club members and answered questions about
their memberships and sold various products relating to RVing and Emergency

RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Non-fiction author. Author of 3 books on jazz history, as well as several
articles and CD liner essays. Have written for the Smithsonian Collection
of Recordings, Concord Jazz Records, Jazz Heritage Foundation, Jazz Review
Magazine and the Jazz Institute of Chicago. Presently writing and editing
for jazz.com (see above). My first and second books were written as part of
my undergraduate honors thesis, where I taught and developed a semester-
long jazz history course. This project was awarded UNC's Best Honors Thesis
of 1989. Recently co-produced and wrote liner notes for CD "Jim Riley &
Some Colorado Friends" (JimJazz Records). Was co-presenter at 2001 Denver
Jazz On Film Festival. Compiled and annotated a multimedia history of jazz
vocalists, "A Selection Of Singers".
