Advanced Data Structures:

. Implementation of the red black trees with duplicate data structure in

C++ and measuring its performance.

Human Computer Interaction:

. Conducted a user study that compares mouse vs. keyboard performance on

a boggle game. The user study was done using focus group and the

project was developed using Dreamweaver and Java Script.

. Designed a new web interface for the elderly & disabled people

conducted and evaluated the study design with various statistical

techniques to prove the benefits of the newly built interface in

comparison with the existing one.

Distributed Operating System:

P2P systems are distributed systems without any centralized control or

hierarchical organization, where the software running at each node has

same functionalities. The core operation in the P2P is an efficient

lookup mechanism for locating data items. The Chord protocol is developed

to suffice such operations. Methods like join, leave and lookup for CHORD

are implemented using Java RMI.

. Token Based Mutual Exclusion: Implemented the Token Ring algorithm to

ensure serialized access by concurrent processes to shared resources

or data using Java multicast facility was used while taking care of

losses due to the network.

. RMI: Java Remote Method Invocation was used to develop a distributed

client/server implementation of the Concurrent Readers and Exclusive

Writer problem.

. Multi-threaded implementation of Dining Philosopher's problem: It's a

classic example where several concurrent threads are competing for

shared resources and precaution must be taken to avoid starvation and

deadlock.

Automated Verification:

. Modeled an airport traffic control network and verified the integrity

of the system under varying loads of concurrency using the SPIN Model

checker. Platform for the project was JAVA and Java Path Finder to

verify the system.

Computer Networks:

. Bit Torrent Client. Platform for the project was Java (jdk 1.6)

. Implemented a P2P file sharing system & verified by distributing the

binary files and comparing checksums using SHA.

Computer Architecture: Implemented a performance simulator for a super-

scalar MIPS processor. It involved two phases

. Simulated a sub-section of MIPS instruction set.

. Enhanced the above system to support pipelining. Platform for the

project was Java (jdk 1.6) on GNU/Linux (Debian 5.0).

College Automation:

. Automated the Admission management system, Staff Evaluation and

Website Uploading for my college using Servlets, J2EE, JSP, and

Pramati Studio 3.5 with Postgres SQL.
