Presently:
October 2009 May 2010 Worked for Hansa-Flex Middle East while I look for
long term work in my area of interest: Helping disadvantaged communities in
Africa get a foot hold in self-sustainability (development).
May 2007 - Nov 2007 and again Oct 2008 - Nov 2009 Actively engaged in
promoting a comprehensive plan of action for the disadvantaged communities
in Africa, through the use of satellite communications; trained teachers;
working with Ministries of Education and intervening with knowledge in
income generating activities in the local communities. This work was
financed from my own funds.
December 2007- October 2008 - Worked under Local Union 134 IBEW in Chicago
in Building Automation Controls with two companies, Automatic Bldg.
Controls and Quantum Elect. Contractors. While working with ABC I was asked
by the Programmer to join him in his work but it meant a cut in pay,
shortly after I moved to Quantum where I left to go to Zambia.
July 2006-May 2007 MC DEAN Electrical construction was hired to be sent
overseas on one of their contracts. I was stationed in Berlin, Germany
until the trip to Zambia. I was asked if I was interested in becoming
superintendent for the job there but had already engaged the trip to
Zambia.
July 2004-July 2006 - Electrical construction for IBEW Local 134. While out
of work there built a Television studio for United Prison Ministry
International in Verbena, Alabama.
August 1999 to July 2004 - I was once again asked to come back and
supervise the electrical work for a brand new school. This lead into a five
year building program that saw the birth of their Call Center; a state of
the art Sound recording studio; finishing Studio B television production.
It culminated in superintending the construction of their Worship Center, a
multi-purpose meeting and television studio complex. This involved
increasing responsibilities working with different contractors engaged in
construction; with our own in-house crews, while also designing and
supervising the electrical, communications and life-safety requirements. I
developed, along with the vendor (Reliance Controls) an energy management
system for this facility.
January 1994 to July 1999.- Worked as an electrician for the Union in
Chicago during this time to meet the increasing financial demands of my
growing-up family.
Deployed to Russia in the fall of 1992 - This project was very much similar
to the one in Romania with the added advantage that we had a lot more
cooperation from the locals. My responsibilities in this project involved
the legalizing of our United States based organization to be able to work
in Russia. It took a number of turns and proper interventions to finally
get the recognition to operate as a non-profit wholly owned branch in that
country. The project is still functioning there with local television
production and broadcasting. I left for the States in fall of 1993 to
continue the Production facility and office complex work in Southern
Illinois. (3ABN)
Deployed to Romania in summer of 1991 - Was asked to start a media project
from the ground up. It involved working with a local ministry (church) to
build a television studio and eventually acquire a broadcast license.
During the time stationed in Bucharest, my responsibilities where to
recruit and train locals in the organizational requirements, television
production and studio construction. While also dealing with the legalities
involved and getting equipment from other parts of Europe. Getting local
construction materials, which were not in easy reach at that time; serving
as liaison between the organization I represented from the States and the
local organization. Eventually, the project's major investments in
equipment where moved to Russia where the parent organization opened a
project. (3ABN)
Operations Manager 3ABN January 1988 - Was working for this organization as
a volunteer for a number of months prior to starting full time work at a
sacrificial wage in June 1986. Designed and installed the required
electrical installation and supporting infrastructure for a satellite earth
station and production/office facility. By January of 1988 was placed as
operations manager supervising all related technical departments of this
growing ministry. Including the building of the first local television
broadcast facility in Salem, IL. While engaged in this work we had interest
from overseas contacts to help them start their own projects.
Interspersed with work at 3ABN there were different time periods that I
worked for Local Union 134 IBEW, Local 702 and the Independent Craftsmen
Union of Missouri.
