are GPRS Mobility Management (GMM, Session Management (SM, RANAP, SCCP, and
GPRS Tunnel Protocol (GTP).
Responsibilities:
Conducted sanity/smoke, regression, feature testing and CR verification in
a simulated GSM/GPRS environment using CATT (common Automation Test tool)
to verify L2/L3 protocols and message flow to/from Nortel SGSN (passport)
when the mobile performs an attach, moves from one routing area to another
and activates a session.
This work involved testing of protocols such as E1/T1 for layer 1, Frame
relay and ATM for Layer 2, Media Access control (MAC) and Network Service
(NS) for Layer 1+2+3, Radio Link control (RLC), MTP3 and Base station

debugging CATT interfaces, thereby minimizing overhead on CATT 1st line
team to a large extent. The tool was developed using Perl, CGI, HTML and
JavaScript. The script performed health check on the TPMs (Test Proxy
Managers that simulate GPRS interfaces). Users could bring the TPMs online
using the tool, thereby, reducing time consumed in raising tickets to bring
the TPM online. The tool also automated the datafill for configuring of the
TPMs.
Responsibilities:
Designed the tool framework.
Developed the complete tool using Perl script thereby reducing overhead on
the users (to open requests) & on CATT 1st line team.

(Test proxy heads) of GPRS, UMTS network for testing purposes. The tool is
written in Java and runs on UNIX platform. All test cases are written in
Java using CATT APIs. The work involved supporting Packet Core team to run
their jobs efficiently with minimal issues, using CATT (Nortel's
proprietary Common Automated Test Tool), insuring a smooth transition to
the new platform, addressing automation platform stability, infrastructure
and design issues, standardizing lab architecture and setup, and debug
problematic scenarios.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintenance and verification of all GPRS and UMTS
Interfaces on CATT which includes various Acceptance test activities where
the new GPRS interfaces had to be tested for correct functionality.
