Through contract with STG Inc. provide payroll support to the Department of State employees to

include: receiving, researching, analyzing and processing pay actions. Perform manual

calculations, where necessary. Uses Microsoft Excel in preparing calculations. Calculates salary

overpayments, underpayments and disposable income using Microsoft Excel. Communicates

amount due to employee (for amounts within approved limit), make repayment schedule and

enter biweekly repayment into payroll system. Keep records of the various correspondences

between the payroll office and the accounts receivable office. Worked steadily alongside

financial management specialists to provide employees with documentation surrounding

overpayments and information on the tax deductibility of those payments when the obligations

are repaid to the Department of State. Notifies Financial Management Specialist of overpayment

case for approval before communication to employee. Researches organizational administrative

issues, identifies options and recommends solutions. Prepares correspondence, reports and

other materials in final form for signature. Processes payroll transactions such as Danger Pay

and Combined Federal Campaign Forms, etc. Reviews payroll transactions for accuracy and

completeness, verifies against appropriate documentation, and forwards for processing.

Ensures that payroll updates are timely and accurately prepared. Inputs payroll data into

the computer for tracking, manipulation, and reporting purposes.Extracts data from

Payroll databases. Responds to all e-mail, phone, letters and faxed customer inquiries; use

Microsoft Word, where necessary, to draft responses. Reviews and processes SF 50's generated

on a bi-weekly basis to include: service computation date changes, Federal Employees

Government Life Insurance (FEGLI) changes, retroactive adjustments, overpayments, new hires

etc. including updating leave accounts, if applicable. Ensures that all documentation and

processing requirements are met to substantiate payroll, deductions, time and attendance

and leave. Uses knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices obtained by compiling

and summarizing data for use by others within the office. Uses budget practices that pertain to the

work assigned.
