Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager - New Vehicle Development and

Launch

2009-Present: Manage a team of buyers, supplier quality

engineers, and packaging/logistics engineers for a new

electric vehicle program. Identify new BIC suppliers and

source parts; negotiate contracts for prototype/production

tooling, ED&T, and part prices from global supply base.

Develop and present management/customer presentations on key

milestones.

2007-2009: Support New Car Launch and Production in Russia for

the GAZ Car Division.

Manage a staff of up to 25 buyers and commodity group leaders

responsible for the procurement of 1500 parts sourced to 200+

suppliers in North America to support the launch of a new

passenger car in Russia. Key objectives include negotiating

customer terms and conditions, JIT parts management and

monitoring of supplier readiness, project management of

critical suppliers and parts including market testing and

tool/equipment resourcing, negotiation of production and

service part prices, support of localization sourcing in Asia,

Europe and Russia, tooling refurbishment, material cost

reduction, interviewing and training new buyers, development

of a service part strategy, management presentations, process

development and business consulting.

Purchasing/Project Manager - Support ACH Plant Sale/Closure

(May 2006-Nov. 2007)

Managed a team of buyers and supply chain analysts responsible

for developing and implementing a supply strategy for select

Automotive Components Holdings (ACH) plants that would support

future customer demand requirements. The strategy included

determination of supply requirements, market testing,

resourcing, and disposition of part tooling and assembly

equipment to support Ford plan to sell or close non-profitable

parts component plants.

Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) - North American

Purchasing

Manage $250 million annual buy for all body and exterior

components including class A sheet metal, structural

stampings, bumpers, grills, moldings, mirrors and switches,

sunroofs and motors, and door closure actuators and electronic

components. In addition, was responsible for the purchase of

selected chassis and power train commodities and Tier II

services including electro-coating, packaging, corrugate, and

warehousing.

Key responsibilities:

> Supervise, train, and mentor staff of buyers on ERP

System; supply chain fundamentals, negotiation skills

through detailed cost analysis, budget attainment,

development of business cases and commodity business plans

for key commodities to support material cost reduction,

supply base management including APQP/PPAP and Lean; and

strategic sourcing including low cost country sourcing

initiatives to identify and source to new global

suppliers..

> Manage Supply Chain Process with supply base, comprised of

over 500 supplier sites and 40,000 parts, to negotiate the

most competitive value equation for cost, delivery and

quality; market testing, tool, die and equipment movement,

logistics support; increase annual expenditures with

minority suppliers; interface with marketing, distribution

operations, quality, supply chain and logistics to develop

supplier strategies to grow dealer collision parts sales

to over $1 billion.

Warehouse Operations Manager, LA Parts Distribution Center

(1997-1999)

Manage two parts warehouses in Los Angeles, CA comprising

850,000 square feet, 185 UAW hourly employees and 15 salaried

employees. Responsibilities included labor relations, human

resources and security functions for a 24 hour - 7day shift

operation. Daily delivery to 200 dealers and warehouse

distributors; shipped between 15,000-20,000 orders of auto

parts daily. Managed plant MRO Purchasing for both warehouses.

Key responsibilities:

> Lead and train warehouse supervisors, superintendents and

other salaried personnel to achieve and exceed daily

budget metrics through continuous improvement and lean

methodology. Oversee, manage and plan daily receiving

stock keeping, and picking workload to ensure manpower

requirements were managed to support operating plan and

customer service goals.

> Reduced annual operating expenditures through ongoing cost

reduction efforts in the areas of equipment leasing,

security, waste management, plant supplies, overtime, and

outside storage. Implemented 5S and warehouse lean re-

engineering project improving productivity by 25% and

making the L.A. warehouse one of the top performing

distribution facilities in the network

> Managed all major plant renovation projects including

HVAC, roof repair, conveyer line repairs, accident

prevention through proactive safety initiatives,

earthquake preparedness, and fitness center construction,

rail and truck dock refurbishment, rack and bin

construction, wire guided equipment installation, and

office construction and lavatory upgrade.

> Interfaced with Purchasing to improve supply chain

policies and procedures, delivery performance of supply

base through 8D reviews and development of quality

metrics, implementation of supplier rating system, dock to

dock times, lead time reduction and cycle time

> Program Management of annual network inventory reduction

initiatives through implementation of improved forecasting

techniques, lower supplier release and minimum run

quantities. Improved customer satisfaction due to gains

in parts availability in the 98% range.
