District Facility Manager / Director of Divisional Store Planning
DFM Responsibilities:
Responsible for facility maintenance programs and projects unique to the
operation of the Union Square flagship location and other stores within the
San Francisco District. The position interfaced with store management
teams, the maintenance organization, outside contractors, service
providers, Macys legal department, and the City of San Francisco.
Key Achievements: :
Provided strong oversight and training to maintain specific goals and
objectives unique to the San Francisco Union Square complex, including the
following:
. Hazardous Uniform Material Plan Administration - HUMPA: Audited the
monitoring process required by the City of San Francisco as part of a
legal settlement in 2008.
. Fire system monitoring and maintenance: Contracted with a new a
systems service provider to provide more comprehensive coverage at
less cost in maintaining more than 3000 smoke heads in over 1.3
million square feet of building. Improved response time to false
alarms in order to avoid building evacuations.
. Construction liaison: Established the DFM as the primary contact from
the Facility team to prevent well-intended projects from having a
negative impact on the facility or the business.
. Regional and District Office Liaison: The Union Square complex houses
the Union Square management offices, 3 District offices and 1 Regional
office and multiple leased operations. Effectively ensured facility
needs were responded to appropriately and in a timely manner. This
involved monitoring the Work Order Management System and the office
recycling program.
Director of Divisional Store Planning Responsibilities:
Charged with providing facilitation of $63M in capital construction during
fiscal 2008. Communicated with store management, contractors, and service
providers. Coordinated all aspects of planning for various vendor shops,
restaurants, leased businesses, and remodels. Performed project
coordination for Seattle and Los Angeles offices. Served as liaison between
developers, architects, vendors, contractors, project managers and
designers. Provided management and leadership to staff members, while
improving overall staff productivity.
Key Achievements:
. Led the development and management of Store Planning Merchandising CAD
standards.
. Spearheaded the planning for the Getting Involved for Tomorrow
campaign fundraiser, generating $42K through online auctions and
campaign related sales.
. Performed the design review for the Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory
restaurant, Boudin's, and the Burger Bar Restaurant within the Macys
Union Square store. Coordinated with restaurant owners and their
architects in developing space planning solutions and resolving
operational issues within budget constraints.

Beyond" award for 2005, the "Divisional Star Conference" award in
2003, and "VIP Best Creative Design" for remodel of 2002 and 2003.
