build of Power Generation systems based on the R-R Trent 60 gas turbine.

Implemented lean and Toyota methods for a mail-order specialty foods

Mechanical Engineer Designed and coordinated the development of custom
gauging applications for inside (ID) and outside diameter (OD) grinders.
Lead engineer in the new double disc grinder post-processing gage system to
control grinding wheel in-feed. Responsibilities included meeting with
customers to discuss gauging applications, resolving issues with product
performance and installation. Continued to enhance skills in parametric
solid modeling and troubleshooting CAD systems.

1997 - 1999
Product Development Engineer Designed and coordinated the development of
major hardware systems for the commercialization of a laser inspection
system for measuring automotive paint. Special emphasis was placed on
packaging of the laser system to handle harsh industrial environments.
Supervised the work of 5 technicians supporting design and manufacturing
activities. Additional responsibilities included: vendor research and
coordination, project management, customer liaison, and logistics
coordinator.
Livernois Engineering, Inc. Dearborn, Michigan
1994 - 1996
Project Engineer Directed and coordinated the design and build of heat
exchange manufacturing machine tools (specifically fin and tube mills).
Spearheaded efforts to self-certify the manufacture of these machine tools
for the European Union (EU) markets (CE Mark: Machinery Directive
compliance). Three (3) new machine tools were exported to Europe as a
result of the certification process. Designed total new systems for a Fin
Mill machine in a team approach for a new generation of product. Honed
mechanical design skills through the process of providing customers with
non-standard machine options.

Senior Product Engineer Primary function was to facilitate new
applications for self-pierced rivet technology while expanding the sales
market. Designed and developed manufacturing work centers utilizing self-
pierced riveting. Introduced (6) six new potential clients to self-pierced
riveting. Analyzed their current manufacturing processes and designed cost
feasible riveting alternatives.

Senior Engineer Directed manufacturing process improvement; implement
new product launches (interior trim and air bag components), resolved

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Coordinated and implemented all
manufacturing processes for new air bag products. Developed assembly,
gauging, and machine tools to meet this goal. Improved production die
cutting operations through rigorous analysis. Investigated alternative
fabric cutting systems (lasers, waterjet) and the use of adhesives in
assembly as an alternative to sewing. Designed steel rule dies, sewing
fixtures, various inspection gages. Managed capital equipment
installations ($500k to $2.5 million).

Product Development Engineer Coordinated all development and production
manufacturing phases from start to finish. Determined manufacturing

races for automatic transmissions. Directed all development phases of new
components: tooling development (compacting and forge), design and build of
required fixtures and gauging, developed turning and grinding operations.
Co-wrote the quality and metallurgy standards for manufacturing department.
Manufacturing Engineer: Directed four press rebuilds. Developed press
preventative maintenance programs.
