I am a highly motivated engineering graduate with over 5 years

experience in the civil engineering field. I am very interested in joining

a company that can capitalize on my proven ability to do field work and

project management. Although I thoroughly enjoy the interface with

customers, I am also hopeful that the current department management

experience I am gaining will eventually enable me to be considered for

Department Manager Construction Services

. Responsible for overall management of the construction materials

testing department, including planning, growth, profitability, cost

controls, employee development, quality control, and client relations.

. Manage 2 Project Managers, 8 field technicians, 2 laboratory

personnel, and 1 office administrator.

. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and perspective

clients

. Prepare proposals for new projects in west central Florida

. Perform assignments that include independent evaluations using

standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Accomplishments

. Improved the operating results of department in a very tough economy,

took department from negative 15% margin to running at a positive 10%

margin.

. Reduced overall operating expenses by 20% by combining job functions,

reducing staff, revising procedures, and minimizing fixed expenses.

. Out of 21 competitors the department was awarded the USCENTCOM

project; our detailed and accurate proposal, timely responses, and

ability to communicate with the client helped to win this high profile

project.
