PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Manager of Operations (Manufacturing and Testing) Canoga Perkins 01/2007 - 02/2010
- Managed the entire high tech manufacturing floor including the test department, SMT
line, wave solder, R.I., cells, sub and final assembly and all test and assembly equipment
- Managed day to day activities for assembly and testing of all products to meet shipping
schedules
- Discovered root causes and resolutions for test and manufacturing issues, implemented
appropriate ECO changes to products, processes or procedures to prevent recurrence
- Headed the continual improvement efforts for both product quality and reliability
- Participated in Engineering Development and CCB at various stages to help ensure the
transition of new products to manufacturing considering DFT and DFM requirements
- Created SPC processes to accurately record manufacturing and test data results
- Dealt with on non-conforming material issues while working closely with suppliers to
find the root cause and to correct the situation
- Provided training, test procedures and work instructions to subordinates as required
- Instrumental in the lean manufacturing initiative and outsourced manufacturing program
Results: Increased profitability, productivity, production capabilities while lowering
inventory via Lean process. Increased product quality, reliability and yields then followed
up with a perpetual method and process for continually improvements in those same areas.
Test Engineer/BIST Engineer Canoga Perkins 09/2000 - 01/2007
- Technically supervised the test department with about 12 technicians
- Designed digital and analog PCBAs, test equipment, and test fixtures
- Developed “C” code for embedded application for Built-In-Self-Test for new products
- Created LabVIEW and VB programs allowing tests to run automatically and repeatedly
Kenneth E. Selover (continued)
- Verified that all products were functionally tested 100 percent
- Actively participated in design reviews focusing in on DFM and DFT
- Identified and recommended changes to products via ECO/ECR for lower cost, increased
reliability, and ease and/or speed of either manufacturing or testing
- Provided training on all new products, test procedures, fixtures, equipment and software
Results: Lowered operating costs, kept test department payroll to a minimum, shortened
test time, simplified the testing process, increased the accuracy of testing, and increased
new product manufacturability/testability.
Sr. Electronic Design Engineer Structural Diagnostics, Inc. 07/1996 - 09/2000
- System level designs of single channel through 32 channel Ultrasonic Instruments
- PCBA designs with RF, High Voltage, Analog, Digital and mixed signal circuitry
- Documentation generation of schematics, PCB gerber files, BOMs and user manuals
- Designed a stepper motor controller using an 8051 processor and associated code
- Design work on a 12 axis motion control system using servo motors, optical encoders for
feedback positioning information, home switches, limit switches, worked with
programming the servo motors for ramp up, ramp down time and speed etc.
Results: Contributed to the success of this startup by creating a very unique and universal
system level design for an Ultrasonic Flaw Detector that they sell to the NDT industry.
Sr. Engineer BAE Systems (Formerly Lear Astronics) 02/1994 - 07/1996
- System and board level design of custom test equipment for the F-15 Flight Control
Computer main CPU board
- Complete hardware and software design of the Stick Force Sensor automated test set
using GPIB instrumentation
- System level design for the F-15/F16 Flight Control Computer (LRU) Modular
Automated Test Set including the interface circuit boards and complete cabling system to
connect to the VXI based system via Virginia Panel
Results: Contributed to the success of BAE Systems by shorting the testing time while
ensuring the testing and data recording is more thorough, accurate and repeatable.
Consultant-Engineer Interstate Electronics Corporation 08/1993 - 11/1993
- Hardware and software design of VXI test equipment to test an avionics logic board
utilizing VXI instruments such as DMM, Switching Matrix, A/D, D/A, and Digital IO
Results: Contributed to their success by creating the ability for them to quickly and
accurately test a new product.
Sr. Design Engineer Grumman Aerospace & Electronics Group 12/1992 - 05/1993
- System level design of MIL-STD-1760B Interface for the upgrade of the F-14A/B and
the Systems Integration Test Stand (SITS Lab/Simulator)
