Process Engineer

Currently working at client site at Conoco Phillips, Bayway Refinery

in Linden, NJ as a Process Engineer doing atmospheric safety relief

valves design and checking the hydraulics as per API. Safety relief

valve design and calculations, hydraulic calculations are based on a

study done by Berwanger where the concerns about sizing, re-rates,

hydraulics and other safety related issues are identified. Co-

ordination with inspection, mechanical and unit engineers is an

integral part of the process. Worked with SINET and HYSYS software.

Also updating the Berwanger Corporation data in their software

Pressure Protection Manager (PPM).

Working on getting safety valve quotes, checking vendor design and

placing the order for safety reliefs. Developed a vendor development

program for the thermal safety valves in the entire refinery, so that

the vendor gets a look ahead into valves coming out for testing and

replaces them treating them as throwaway, as it's a lot of effort to

test and put back these small safeties. Getting all SAP information

together for Equipment Criticality database, getting all the personnel

from operations, process design, maintainance and business team

together to assign criticality index and work on action plans to

eliminate/rectify the odds. Similar effort started for Reliability

Operating limits (ROL) for all the units in Bayway refinery following

the corporate guidelines.
