Responsible for the physical infrastructure maintenance of a large
American multi-state and European corporate legal network. Accomplishments
included the physical upgrade of all corporate domain servers and
applications to new hardware. This included performing all corporate server
OS upgrades and new server builds. These upgrades included 2000 and 2005
SQL database moves and integration to new servers. Job responsibilities
also included all new 32 and 64 bit server Microsoft 2003 builds and
network integration.
. As one of the primary administrators, Served as a 3rd level support
tasked with troubleshooting issues occurring on a day to day basis for
100+ servers and 900+ workstations.
. Initiated and acted as program manager for the installation and
maintenance of the Microsoft WSUS Ver. 3 server patch system. This
included WSUS server development, patch retrieval, testing and
confirmation of all patch and security update releases.
. Installed and provided all upgrades to the Double-Take Replication
software and the Whats-Up Gold Monitoring system. Maintained and
monitored Dell OpenManage ITAssist and Dell Open Manage server
application software for all domain servers.
. Primary project manager for the "Daylight Saving Time" changeover for
both servers and clients. This was accomplished by researching and
implementing software modifications released by Microsoft. Coordinated
with IT management and all Site managers to push out the modification
to all servers and clients using Altiris.
. Served as a primary on the technical staff for the buildup and
integration of the Miller Canfield's new office in both Chicago and
Kalamazoo. This involved assisting in server room configuration and
the mount and testing of over 50 systems per site.
Maintenance of Dell 143n and 7000 auto tape libraries using Veritas
Backup software while serving as a backup administrator for the Symantec
software package was an ongoing responsibility. Researched and assigned Ip
addresses and DRAC Card IP addresses to any new equipment for the
appropriate subnet.

Senior on-site administrator for multiple corporate locations in both the
manufacturing and legal fields. This function entailed supervising customer
sites to insure IT technicians at these sites were meeting needs and
standards set forth by C.A.S.S. management and required by clients.
Scheduled and coordinated all IT activity at client sites to ensure a
smooth and timely work flow.
. Principal architect in developing the quarterly and yearly customer IT
budgets. In this process, a full upgrade path was presented to clients
for their domain equipment and software. This included hardware,
software and licensing upgrade paths with pricing.
. Developed projects relating to client IT business needs and ensured
adequate staffing for those projects to insure timely completion. For
example, at Storbl & Sharp P.C., I executed a full Microsoft Office up-
grade for all 100 users.
. Project coordinator at the American Legal Association (ALA) for the
CASS rollout of the Sentinel Intrusion Prevention Seminars.
. One of my daily functions was serving as the maintenance and technical
lead for both Veritas Version 10/10B backup software and Symantec Live
State programs. Controlled WSUS at each site for managed workstation
and server patch management. Upgrading the terminal server running at
Strobl & Sharp PC to a Citrix server running 4.0 on a Windows 2003
standard server was a major successfully completed project. Applying
all patches and security settings for both Citrix and Microsoft to
servers was a continuous job responsibility. Worked with Ingram Micro
to achieve best pricing for this client.

April/2000 - April/2004 Dale Industries, Inc. - Corporate Information
Technology Manager
Primary architect of the entire corporate domain. Starting with an older
Novell 3.2 network with independent 486 servers at each of the companies 6
locations, Created a rack mounted Dell 2000 and 2003 Microsoft based domain
using Cisco 2600 routers and frame relay to each of the 6 sites. I also
initiated an e-mail system which allowed better communication between users
and customers. Acting as the principal architect and purchase agent in
upgrading this single Novell server network into a multi-server multi-state
distributed Windows 2000 and 2003 Domain environment; Acquired best pricing
from each vendor. Coordinated the purchase and design of the Cisco Based
wan structure and routing infrastructure.
. Appointed as a managing member of the corporate steering committee for
an ERP assessment, evaluation and deployment role, Dale standardized
on a package from J.D.Edwards called One-World. Daily activities
involve supervising JDEdwards developers and coordinating the ongoing
implementation of the ERP project with consultants and staff. Duties
also include performing as base CNC support for the projects.
. Primary support decision maker in the implementation of a Citrix XP
solution over IBM Web Sphere resulting in a huge cost savings for the
company. Researched and presented ROI for each product and submitted
final move to change initial Web Sphere JDEdwards tie-in. Purchased,
built and provided primary support for the new Citrix farm.
Researching and installing all Citrix patches relevant to a correct
ICA and Nfuse setup of server farm was a continuing responsibility.
Installed ICA client's s to 100 desktops in domain and provided
primary support for all users to access the JDEdwards production
package. Senior Administrator and Technical Engineer for all
Microsoft, Novel and Citrix XP farm daily activities.
Designed and maintained corporate web-site DaleIncor.com and also built
an intranet for inner corporate use. The DaleIncor.com site included a
complete copy of the 8 industry parts and specification catalogs saving
significant costs associated with the production of a multipage 4 color
catalogs.
As part of the restructuring during the JDEdwards project, I
designed, implemented and maintained a multi-state Intermec 802.11b RF-scan
solution for all six manufacturing sites. Provided research and purchase of
the factory floor Intermec hand held scanners. Project lead in coordinating
access in the factory complexes of each state using new fiber.
Daily supervision and management of 11+ personnel at 6
manufacturing facilities and main corporate facility was an ongoing
responsibility.
