General Manager
Recruited to grow this subsidiary of ArmorWorks, a privately held
manufacturer of military body armor, aircraft armor, and vehicle armor. Had
responsibility for the entire company, including operations, engineering,
sales, and finance. Oversaw 50 employees. Prior to being hired, the company
was running at a net loss.
Overall Results: Succeeded in making the company profitable. Increased
sales by over 100% in the first year by identifying growth markets and
actively pursuing new customers. Developed the company's first strategic
plan, including sets of goals and objectives, sales forecasts, and
financial analyses. Brought new vision and energy, increasing sales 25% in
2009 despite major economic recession.

Lean Manufacturing Eliminated delays in the business process and ensured on-time
deliveries, reducing inventory by 33% and having no late orders

Responsibility for 160 employees in two separate production facilities for
family-owned company with operations in California, Arizona, and Nevada,
and customers nationwide. Project lead on major accounts and supervised
project managers on jobs in excess of $1 million.
Hired to implement a soup-to-nuts overhaul of the company's inventory
management and production turnaround time. Prior to being hired, the
company's fulfillment of orders was untimely and well below industry
standards.
Overall Results: Slashed cycle time in half (from 12 to 6 weeks) by
introducing just-in-time techniques to the manufacturing process. Installed
an MRP (material requirements planning) system that improved inventory
accuracy and job costing, gaining efficiencies in "bucket size" among
operational segments. These improvements enabled the company to work on
larger and more profitable high-profile projects.

enjoyed. Founded the consulting firm from scratch and grew it to have more

this worldwide leader in the belting industry. Habasit's affiliates are
fully owned, and each company has its own inventory, fabrication, assembly
and service facilities. Responsible for 150 employees.
Overall Results: Built two new major fabrication centers, which were
completed on time and under budget. These centers were more efficient than
their predecessors, yielding a productivity improvement of 20%. Reduced
costs considerably through the savvy formation of partnerships with
suppliers, the development of innovative manufacturing techniques, and
quality control improvements.
Selected Achievements:
Inventions and Developed the method and established the need for using an
Innovations anti-microbial agent in an original equipment product. This
method was patented and created a successful new product line
with sales in excess of $5 million, and led to the company's
acquisition by the parent corporation.
Invented a unique method of belting manufacture, which was also
patented and improved labor efficiencies by more than 50%.
Labor Relations First chair in four collective bargaining negotiations, with
full responsibility for union shops. During entire tenure,
there were no labor stoppages. Substantially reduced both the
number of grievances and the time spent on grievance
resolution, resulting in increased productivity.
