Insurance and Risk Management: Designed and developed a strategic

initiative that resulted in the successful emergence of a Risk Retention

Group that insures over 200+ physicians. Managed and developed the entire

Risk Management Program including comprehensive insurance coverage,

incident reporting processes and claims administration for the

organization.

Leadership: Increased revenue and services of multi-site primary healthcare

organization by 6% of total operating budget in a highly competitive

environment. I diversified a large healthcare provider by developing a

corporate-owned Medical Malpractice company in the form of a Risk Retention

Group.

Operations: Developed and monitored complete, comprehensive insurance

program for the entire organization and operational exposures including

W.C., Auto, Fidelity, Property, Umbrella, High SIR, Risk Retention

Programs, G.L., D&O, E&O, and Malpractice. Designed numerous policies and

procedures to improve organizational performance and increase patient

satisfaction. Implemented strategic initiative that developed

organizations own insurance company for malpractice. Supervised a staff of

7 professional and 4 non-professional employees.

Strategic Planning: Decreased operating cost by integrating services with

primary care, counseling and assessment/referral. Develop marketing

initiatives to increase market share through utilization of marketing mix

and promotion mix. Designed strategic measures which created

organizational differentiation resulting in the development of a

malpractice insurance company, reducing cost by $5M in insurance premiums.

Contract Negotiation: Reviewed all contractual agreements and insurance

coverage which decreased overall cost by 18% annually. Insurance cost

reduced by 28%, with the introduction of our own RRG with reduced premiums

from $6.8 Million to $5.2 Million. Workers Comp coverage reduced by $114K

and place in a dividend program. Umbrella Coverage costs reduced by

$42,000. Negotiated all reinsurance and excess liability contracts that

represented over $25,000,000 in coverage for our captive RRG.

Financial Analysis: Reviewed insurance pricing and coverage annually

including actuarial analysis for RRG pricing at the 75th percentile.

Reviewed cost on each center for fixed and variable cost on a line item

basis and initiated adjustments to improve performance.

Project Management: Managed daily operations of a multi million dollar

healthcare organization and insurance company, with direct responsibility

for profit and loss of $4 million dollars in operating revenue.

Process Improvement: Successfully managed the process and solved associated

problems relating to standards of compliance resulting in accreditation by

the Joint

Commission.
