Professional Summary:
Experience in increasingly responsible positions as a electronic technician for High voltage utility, power
generation, chemical, military and microprocessor (chip) manufacturing industries. A combination of
extensive education and practical experience working with electronics and electrical mechanical systems has
resulted in excellent qualifications as a senior electronic systems technician with a strong knowledge of
component level troubleshooting and repair.
Professional Experience:
Georgia Transmission Corporation Tucker, GA 10/03 to 3/10
ECS Technician for northern region
• Managed the electronic maintenance needs for three rapidly expanding Northern Metro- Atlanta
EMC’s coverage areas. Installed and maintain electronic controls for transmission and
distribution class electrical substations electronic metering, protective relays and scada
indication and control systems. Have commissioned and maintained numerous electrical
substations. Have installed programmed commissioned and repair Space net satellite systems,
cellular and frame relay alternate communications at both substations and remote sites
throughout Georgia.
• Managed Northern region telecommunications systems for protection, controls and operation
and maintenance for GTC and EMC substations. Systems and facilities included but not limited
to local and wide area networks, telephony, radio, satellite, and fiber optic systems, etc. Has
always been a leader in the researching, design and upgrade of communications for the field
communication systems to ensure system reliability.
• Have through various testing methods found root cause and the corrective action required to
resolve repeated communication failures for Georgia Transmission entire leased
telecommunication circuits for all of Georgia Transmission substations. These
communications failures and the trouble calls placed for repairs were very costly. The corrective
action has saved considerable cost for company and increased overall system reliability.
• As northern region electronic controls technician I led many team initiatives such as copper
theft in progress system, alternate data path communications and remote motor operated
switches installations and upgrades. These initiatives were completed well before deadline and
have made considerable improvement to overall transmission system reliability.
• As a senior technician I have mentored junior technicians by providing training and training
opportunities for many systems ranging from GE-D20 remote terminal units to Spacenet
satellite communication systems. As well as troubleshooting skills using various test equipment
to isolate to component level, to reduce repair parts cost.
