windows and SONY PLAZA visual events. This includes: the design and
development of fixtures, production of a directive guidebook
for merchandise presentation, seasonal promotions and product
launches for a multi-store rollout program, the research and
development of artists and vendors and visual merchandising in the
SONY WONDER TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM.
BLOOMINGDALE’S, 59th St. New York City, NY. 1992 – 1995.
Visual Manager of Cosmetics, Fashion Accessories and Special
Events. Responsible for the interpretation and installation of corporate
visual. Designed specific shops and special promotions
individual to the 59th St. flagship store. Direct staff, divisional and
dept. managers in merchandising and maintaining store standards.
Assist cosmetics companies and fashion accessory vendors to
incorporate their image within Bloomingdale’s.
MACY’S NORTHEAST, New York City, NY. 1989 – 1992. Divisional
Creative Planner, Responsible for the design and purchasing
of visuals for shops in over 70 stores. Created and produced directive
visual merchandising books seasonally for the Northeast
Division. Conducted research and development of contractors and
prop vendors.
Assistant to Renovation Coordinator of Store Planning/Visual
Merchandising, Assisted in the planning and execution of shop
concepts and design for the opening of several new Macy’s stores and
ongoing renovations in existing stores. Responsible for
ordering props, designing custom fixtures, selecting carpet colors and
wall coverings, and maintaining budgets.
MACY’S, Paramus, NJ. 1987 – 1989. Senior Staff, in charge of
Mens and Juniors Depts. Responsibilities involved all phases of
Visual including: shop concepts and design specific to the Paramus
store, bust form rigging and mannequins, floor plans and fixturing,
merchandising of fashion and hard-goods, and the interpretation and
installation of corporate supplied seasonal trim. Assisted in
ongoing store renovations and the opening of a new Children’s
Department.
TELLO’S, Cambridge, MA. 1986 – 1987. Visual Merchandiser /
Window Designer. Assisted the display director in the execution of
windows and in-store trim for a high volume womens and mens retail
clothing chain. Designed and produced signs, banners, and
props for promotion displays. Worked on the Gerber Computer to
design graphics, print, weed and install vinyl on windows.
Assisted in the opening of 6 new stores.
HOT SWEATZ, Hackensack, NJ. / West Medford, MA. 1984 –
1986. Co-owner of hand-painted clothing business. Acquired sales
accounts, wholesalers, and designed a line of womens and kids
seasonal clothing. Handled books, records and distribution of
clothes throughout New York, New Jersey, Florida and Massachusetts.
CAMP WIQUANUPPEK, New York State, Summers 1981 – 1980 –
1979. Program Director, Arts and Crafts Director, Instructor,
Counselor. Responsible for all day and evening activities for a sleep
away camp. Initiated and taught an arts and crafts program
