EXPERIENCE & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Supply Chain Management: Provided leadership in four important areas of
procurement for multi-national companies in US and Asia-Pacific countries-
Establishing and maintaining procurement systems and operations in US and
Asia-Pacific; Ensuring global and local strategic sourcing and category
management strategies; Leading business process outsourcing initiatives
globally; Developing, implementing, and maintaining ERP systems for all
material functions and supply chain strategies/programs to reduce on-hand
inventory levels (i.e. demand flow, KanBan, point of use etc.).
Contract Global Sourcing Manager for well established racing
bike/motorcycle manufacturer and OEM supplier from 5/2008 to present,

Wastequip Corporation (LA, CA) - manufacturer of waste collection and
processing equipment, Group Director of Purchasing-1/2007 to 5/2008, with
six direct reports at six locations across US and four indirect reports in
China, responsible annual spend: $70M
Established procurement systems, processes, policies and procedures for
West Group (newly formed by six acquired companies); implemented a new ERP
system (Macola) across West Group; recruited two new buyers and trained six
buyers for new procedures and system; recruited four engineers and one
country manager in China and set up Wastequip China office in Qingdao;
established long-term relationships with key suppliers/mills in Main Land
China, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and US through
rigorous selecting and qualifying process; achieved $2M material cost
savings in 2007 largely attributed to strategic sourcing raw materials,
components and assemblies from those suppliers.
Master Halco Corporation (Orange, CA) - manufacturer of security accesses
(electronics) and fence, International Sourcing Manager -7/2005 to 12/2006,
with six indirect reports in US, responsible annual spend: $200M
Worked closely with 6 manufacturing facilities and 23 distribution centers
across US and Canada to rationalize and integrate the global supplier base
for improved service and reliability as well as identify the products or
processes that can be outsourced to maximize cost savings; Outsourced three
key production lines to China and realized 25% cost reduction; Qualified
six raw material and component suppliers in China and Vietnam, resulting
15% cost savings.
Rain Bird Corporation (Azusa, CA) - manufacturer of irrigation and
agriculture equipment (pumps, hoses etc.), Consultant and International
Sourcing Leader- 1/2003 to 7/2005, Responsible Annual Spend: $80M
Successfully established an information system, which uses economic and
financial data to determine the effects on costs and profit of such
variables as transportation, raw material availability, currency
restrictions, and China's import/export policy changes;
Spearheaded the project in establishing Rain Bird's manufacturing facility
in Shanghai, China-specifically, acquired operation license and
import/export permit by working closely with local and state government
agencies, purchased $1.7M capital equipment from China and US and have them
installed within projected time frame, established the China sourcing team
and logistics networks to import and export raw materials and finished
products.
Rationalized and consolidated domestic suppliers of packaging and raw
materials to leverage buy power for better pricing; significantly reduced
new product development and production cost by getting suppliers involved
from the early stage of R&D to production pilot run; participated in the
establishment of KanBan and Vendor Managed Inventory program for raw
materials and components.
Operations Management:
Vip Rubber & Plastics Company (La Habra, CA) - manufacturer of automotive,
aerospace and industrial products with extruding, compression molding,
injection molding, calendaring and fabrication production lines.
Director of Operations (R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain Management)-5/97 to
5/2002 with 3 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities: Participating corporate budgeting, and strategic &
profit planning; Personally responsible for raw material procurement;
Coordinate company-wide Lean Manufacturing Techniques; Working with
marketing and sales to identify new developments in the market place;
Oversee new product development & launch and quality compliance; Creating
and maintaining a master schedule that supports sales forecast;
Establishing guidelines and developing production schedules for
