SUMMARY:
Over twenty five years experience in Electrical and Instrument design of
petrochemical, nuclear and industrial facilities. Work responsibilities
include creation of equipment location drawings, facility lighting and
above/underground power distribution, grounding, single line schematics,
wiring diagrams, process loop diagrams and instrumentation plan drawings;
familiarized with P&ID's, design of high bay lighting; 5kv, 2.4kv & 480v
power distribution systems; Material Take-Off and checking of electrical
packages; lighting panel and transformer sizing; MCC elevation & layout
configurations, cable tray design, routing and fill, develop cable and
conduit schedules; duct bank sections and layouts, as-built verification
of control, monitoring and relay panels.
EXPERIENCE:
BRINDERSON (2006-2009)
Typical projects consisted of miscellaneous revamp electrical changes and
upgrades to various units of local refineries (Vapor Recovery Unit at BP
Terminal, Control Room modifications at Chevron, Perimeter Security Fence
at ExxonMobil) Requiring weekly job walks with engineers and construction
team as well as close coordination with other disciplines to insure design
progress and feasibility
WATSON COGEN (2005)
Upgrade of existing local controls for two compressors at BP refinery in
Carson, CA. with state of the art Triconex PLC and DCS interface, verified
as built condition, produced new physical dwgs and wiring connection
diagrams for new control cabinet; work accomplished with minimum down time
for switch over to new installation
T.J. CROSS (2004)
Revamp work for Chevron producing field in Bakersfield, Ca. assigned new
plc addresses to existing diagrams with field verification and drawing
implementation of changes, also executed as built jobs on miscellaneous
substations and general electrical upkeep and upgrades or revisions.
FLUOR DANIEL (2001-2004)
Estimate of fire damage at Citgo Lemont Refinery in Chicago (crude unit)
instrumentation for client's insurance company claim. Reassigned to
Equilon's Clean Fuel Project in Long Beach. Implemented changes to loop
diagrams and physical instrumentation drawings in affected units to conform
with MTBE phase-out and CARB-3 regulations. Also responsible for instrument
loop folders on project.
C&H ENGINEERING (1999-2001)
Assigned to AERA Energy projects. Developed drawings for equipment
location, grounding, power and lighting, instrument location and connection
diagrams; Also rerouted instrumentation to relocated PLC, assigned new
addresses for additional devices from dedicated I/O list to existing
diagrams on well head deck of offshore platform.
THE AUSTIN COMPANY (1997-1999)
Assigned to the Boeing Delta IV project in Decatur, Alabama. Produced
lighting design of various process high-bay areas and rooms, equipment
grounding, switchgear location layouts, medium voltage power distribution
drops to machinery, cable tray and conduit routing to miscellaneous loads.
All drawings executed and revised on AutoCAD 14.
FLUOR DANIEL (1994-1997)
Assigned to Texaco fire damage job. Work consisted of replacing field
instrument wiring to Marshalling Panel in Control Room and revising
Honeywell wiring diagrams on AutoCAD 11. Assisted with miscellaneous field
tasks. Reassigned to Chevron Reformer Gas Project. Worked extensively on
lighting and underground power distribution.
WOLDER-ENGINEERING (1989-1993)
Worked on TDC-3000 Distributed Control System conversion of pneumatic
instrumentation project for ARCO L.A. refinery. Weekly field walks to
verify that all instruments from various terminal boxes landed into
marshalling cabinet for final termination at Honeywell cabinet also altered
all instrument loop diagrams, developed new instrument location layouts
FLUOR CORPORATION (1986-1988)
Revamp of FCC Unit at Texaco Los Angeles Plant. Work consisted of
instrument modernization from pneumatic to electronic via marshalling panel
to Honeywell TDC-3000, field surveys for location of devices and field
terminal boxes. Developed instrument mounting details and field terminal
boxes wiring diagrams
SANTA FE-BRAUN (1984-1986)
Mina Abdulla Project, Kuwait. Responsible for Material Take-Off and
checking duties. Also ran computer lighting calculations for all rooms of
the facility. Sized lighting panel and transformers, computed panel
schedules, worked on electrical equipment room configurations and layout of
motor control centers.
BECHTEL CORPORATION (1982-1984)
Assigned to physical group of Kori Unit 5 & 6 Project (Nuclear Power
Plant). Responsible for classified and non-classified conduit and cable
tray routing of miscellaneous systems. Worked extensively in Control
Building on separation problems between various feeders of different
trains, services and voltages. Implemented field design change notices on
drawings.
SO. CAL EDISON (1979-1982)
Assigned to "SONGS-1" Project (Nuclear Power Plant). Work involved some
"as-built" verification of all control, monitoring and relay panels so as
to change all affected elementary and wiring diagrams. Visual inspections
(field walk-downs) also Implemented Dcn's and Fdcn's on existing drawings;
Later assigned to "Three Mile Island" job in main office for implementation
of various safety related control and relay panel wiring changes and
additions in compliance with NRC requirements.
RALPH M. PARSONS (1976-1979)
Executed Material Take-off on all electrical disciplines of ARAMCO Refinery
in Saudi Arabia. Completed on-site assignment as Materials Field
requisition and Coordination. Developed single line diagrams from design
specifications and electrical engineer general concept. Underground power
distribution, duct bank sections and manholes, cable and conduit schedules.
Also performed checking duties on electrical physical drawings.
