RESearch experience
1. Designed stochastic simulation model on patient scheduling
algorithms.
2. Designed and validated a spam filter program based on 57
predictor attributes using decision trees (MART). Provide
analysis on model reliability and interpretation.
3. Developed market prediction model on house value in a
neighborhood given certain attributes of the neighborhood.
Identified the key variables in the prediction model. Estimated
the misclassification error of an optimal classification tree.
4. Proficient in manipulating massive data sets using various
supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to
create analysis-ready data sets.
5. Applied different univariate and multivariate statistical
analysis tools to address various kinds of problems, including
regression, path analysis, neural networks, classification and
clustering, boosting and bagging, etc.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2001- 2010 Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center -
Cincinnati, OH
Statistician / Analytical Consultant
1. Conducted a multi-site study on nursing turnover, covering
experimental design, statistical analysis methodology, and final
proposal to the management based on the study outcome.
2. Led a company-wide Employee Engagement Survey project, conducted
advanced statistical analysis to gain insight into the spectrum
of employee views on policies and work-life balance issues etc.
3. Conducted cost-effectiveness analysis on drugs for Juvenile
Rheumatoid Arthritis using Markov Chain modeling technique.
4. Designed and implemented an application using Excel macros and
Visual Basic to automate the paperwork flow and improve the
efficiency of human resources process. The newly integrated
process resulted in an annual cost saving of $150,000 in
manpower and error reduction.
