and makes patents for their designed products so that no other company

duplicates their technologies. As part of the project, we need to verify,

compare and test the duplicated products to map the technologies and to

create the claim charts.

Responsibilities: Worked on verifications for different features on

different embedded devices:

. Verified Google's G1 Android mobile phone, Buffalo-Terastation (NAS -Box)

Description: Porting Symbian (DCTF) functionalities onto Linux (DCTF)

includes Message & Data communications between ARM side processor to DSP

side processor. Existing Symbian DCTF functionalities has been ported

onto the Linux DCTF test frame. Multithread programming was the necessary

requirement for the project.

Responsibilities:

. Setting up the cross platform development environment.

. Developed Porting strategy for establishing Data & Message comm. b/w

ARM & DSP Processors.

. Cross compiled DSP side Bridge Driver & ARM side Bridge Driver and the

DCTF application has been ported.

Project: Linux Base Port (BSP & board boot up)

Description: Porting Ethernet Driver (SMSC 91c96). Ethernet works fine

with different OMAP Processors, when the same tested on a new OMAP

processor, it's non-functional. For making the driver to support the

advanced processor, a register has been configured. Requirement was to

Test Power Management.

Responsibilities:

. Setting up the cross platform development environment

. Provided design documents for the modified modules developed and

Participated in review of design & code.

. Enabled Ethernet registers by Configuring and testing the Ethernet

Registers for OMAP Processor.

. Boot-loader & Ethernet Driver is tested for the Ethernet

configurations to get the board up and running.

. Run different test cases for Power Management (RUN, STANDBY, SLEEP and

SHUTDOWN).

Project: IOS Packaging

Description: It redefines, renames and significantly reduces Cisco IOS

feature, sets and deploys a new packaging model across all platforms. The

new packaging of IOS images is accompanied by a change in the underlying

infrastructure to facilitate a move towards a more automated packaging

process. The scope of this project involves analysis of features to

determine the packaging destinations. Making desired changes to the new

build IOS images on any chosen platforms. Documentation was done to

support the migration & usage of the new packaging infrastructure.

Responsibilities: A key member of the team involved in the Development &

Maintenance of IOS packaging infrastructure and build tools maintains.

Project: Multimedia Porting onto Linux Integration

Description: A Company involved in System Integration project and the

main responsibilities includes Integration of Ported Device Drivers &

releasing of the integrated device driver software. Existing Nucleus

device drivers were ported to RTlinux. This project basically involves

Porting & Handling of Configuration/Release/Build management work.

Responsibilities:

. Provided documents for the modified modules. Participated in reviewing

code and documents.

. Handled Configuration/Release/Build Management. Assisted with System

Integration Team in handling Build and Release work. Building Boot

loader (on Windows platform), RTLinux, Protocol-Stack and Ram disk.

. Handled ConfigSpec and build artefacts during every release.

. Requirement was to configure the hardware timer to measure time in

milliseconds and done as per the requirement.

Project: Firmware Development for MCF 5272

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C and Red Hat Linux 7.2. [2.4.7-10 kernel], uClinux [2.4-x

kernel], GNU Toolkit.

Description: Main communication from a host PC running "BeckhoffClient"

software communicating to the digital board through "MODBUS/TCP" Ethernet

interface [RJ-45] needs to be tested. Again Communication needs to be

tested b/w digital board [ADuC 841] and analog boards for serial [RS

-232C] interface.

Responsibilities:

. Setting up the cross platform development environment

. Optimizing Linux Kernel from executing 'make menuconfig',

configuration tool.

. A Char Device Driver was developed to read and write from general

purpose registers on MCF 5272 processor.

. Network programming (Socket, Select, fork & exec calls used) was

developed to establish the communication the client software

(MODBUS/TCP) and between the Digital & Analog boards.

. Provided design documents for the developed modules.

Description: Software program was required to control the registers on

MCF 5272 Motorola boards.

Responsibilities:

purpose registers on MCF 5272 processor.

. Application to test the driver for reading and writing from the

general purpose registers was developed.

. Designing, implementation and testing was done for the project.

Project: A Disk for setting up the basic installations setup for building

the boot loader image and uClinux kernel image from making use of the

existing software tool chain for the Motorola MCF 5272 Cold Fire System

board.

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C & Red Hat Linux 7.2. [2.4.7-10 kernel] GNU Toolkit (m68k-

elf-tools).

Description: Requirement was to setup a PC for building the kernel image

and boot loader along with erasing and loading the firmware software onto

the target evaluation boards connected to the PC provided with BDM (Block

Debug Module) Interface along with a utility provided from Motorola. A

compact installation disk was needed for performing the above, mentioned

task was the requirement.

Responsibilities:

. Installation software CD was developed in Linux, that copies the

required software's (boot loader software, uClinux software and gnu

toolkit) onto required Linux installed PC's.

. Basic setup will be done for erasing and uploading boot loader and

kernel image onto the eval boards connected through BDM interface.

. Coding and testing was done for the project.

. Participated in review of design, code and documentation.

Project: Developed an application software for Erasing and Uploading the

Boot-loader and uClinux image onto the MCF 5272 Eval Board ie., Host to

Target Board.

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C & Red Hat Linux 7.2. [2.4.7-10 kernel] GNU Toolkit (m68k-

elf-tools), uClinux-[2.4-x kernel].

Description: Uploading of Boot-Loader and uClinux kernel image onto the

Target-Board from host Machine which involves BDM (Block Debug Module)

Interface along with a utility provided from Motorola. Ethernet Interface

along with Serial Terminal connected to the Target-Board. Work mainly

concerned on open source code in Linux.

Responsibilities:

. Developed an application software program, which erases and uploads

the image files onto the Target Eval boards.

. Coding and testing was done for the project.

Project: Seeq 80225 Transceiver

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C & Red Hat Linux 7.2. [2.4.7-10 kernel] GNU Toolkit (m68k-

elf-tools). uClinux-[2.4-x kernel].

Description: uClinux has inbuilt support for AMD and Level One

Transceiver in Ethernet module for Cold fire MCF 5272 Systems. Support

for seeq 80225 Transceiver has been designed (Configured) and developed

for cold fire MCF 5272 systems in uClinux, the pins are configured for

Seeq's transceivers and developed an option to select the seeq along with

the existing AMD and Level One Transceivers, it has been provided inside

the "fec" driver and tested the same. Work mainly based on Linux open

source code.

Responsibilities:

. Developed, support for Seeq 80225 Transceiver, inside Ethernet driver.

. Changes done on the existing Ethernet driver to support Seeq 80225

(Transceiver) as part of our uClinux image. Registers has been

configured and tested to establish communication.

Project: Testing Device-Side USB 1.1 drivers for MCF 5272 Eval Board

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C & Red Hat Linux 7.2. [2.4.7-10 kernel] GNU Toolkit (m68k-

elf-tools). uClinux-[2.4-x kernel].

Description: Motorola has provided device side drivers for USB device,

which can be complied along with uClinux for creating image.bin file and

the client software which will run on windows-2K also provided by

Motorola for testing the same. USB device side driver files has been

included into the image and uploaded the same onto the Flash on to the

Board. Work mainly concerned on open source code in Linux.

Responsibilities: Downloaded the USB driver files from Motorola website

and integrated the same with uClinux image for building binary images to

test USB, on Motorola Eval board.

XL net

Jan' 01 - May' 02

Project: E-mail paging for onsite pagers

Role: Software Engineer.

Environment: C & Red Hat Linux.

Description: The project aims at displaying an email header onto a pager

receiver. An application program extracts the paging header from a Unix

server mailbox. It communicates with the multitone paging encoder for

sending the block of data to encode to POCSAG format. Application also

gives access to register a user to receive paging call or deregister a

registered pager.

Responsibilities:

. Development and Testing of Network Interface module.

. Coding and testing was done for the project.

. Participated in review of design, code and documentation.
