WORKING EXPERIENCE

April 2009-Present: Product Development and Research Engineer in

Iberdrola Ingenier a y Construcci n, Madrid, Spain.

. Working with the IEC 61850 Standard and its application to real

substation projects. Member of the IEC TC57WG10 for developing the IEC

61850 Standard.

. Member of the Smart Grid Department within the Company. Currently I am

representing Iberdrola Group in the Open Node project (which is a FP7

research project for the European Commission).

. Participating in studies and analysis of new emergent markets and

products to evaluate their beneficial application to the company new

projects.

December 2005-April 2009: Protection and Control Engineer in Iberdrola

Ingenier a y Construcci n, Madrid, Spain.

. Responsible for the requirements gathering, equipment definition and

protection, control and measurement solution design for every Iberdrola

new substation or remodelling of existing substation, under the company

(Iberdrola) criteria, for its network in Spain. Supervision of the

planning and design of the utility distribution systems.

. Same responsibilities but for every new transmission substation built

by Iberdrola Ingenier a y Construcci n under REE (Red El ctrica de

Espa a) Company criteria, which is the company in charge of the

transmission level network in Spain.

. Project Manager for the protection, control and measure solution phases

involved in a new substation project: collaboration in the network

system design; studies and calculation of short circuit currents, power

flow, etc. with dedicated software; schedule, scope, and budget

development; definition of equipments of protection, control and

measure for generation and distribution substations (according to the

client criteria); supervision of developed engineering; calculation of

protection settings and protection coordination and on-site

commissioning supervision.
