Career History

September 2009 to present: Well Engineering and Intervention Manager in

Qatargas, Qatar. Seconded to Qatargas by Shell.

Manages all offshore gas wells for Qatargas.

existing wells.

Responsible for improving Qatargas standards to enable Qatargas to

become premier LNG company in the world.

All gas wells are in Sour environment

Responsible for company's onshore wells.

Prepare budgets, plans for drilling, well interventions and

Surveillance plan.

September 2006 to September 2009: Deputy Department Head for South

Oman - Well Engineering and work over operations (Petroleum Development

Oman)

. Manages a fleet of 10 Drilling Rigs and 14 work over units.

. Responsible for delivering 238 wells and 1250 well interventions in

2008.

. Responsible for planning and execution of Drilling and Well and

reservoir Management of South Oman wells.

. Member of Incident and operational review committee to invstigate high

potential incidents and high value operational incidents.

. Enforce compliance to Shell standards in South Oman well operations.

. Mentoring and development of newly recruited Omani Engineers.

Oct 2003 to September 2006 : Senior Well Engineer - Operations.

. Responsible for 14 Work over units. Ensure that well interventions are

done in compliance with Shell procedures and the objectives are

achieved.

. Manage Service companies like to ensure that the quality services are

available and the services are executed safely and with minimum non

productive time.

December 2002 to October 2003 : Asset Team Well Engineer

. Involve in planning of critical equipments for executing Well and

Reservoir Management.

. Work along side Asset team to ensure that new oil and deferment

targets are achieved within cost and time targets.

September 2000 to December 2002: Well Engineer, Cost Focal Point & Field

. Prepare reviews and ensure that the Well Engineering and Asset

teams are constantly fed back on the trends during execution.

. Implement new technology. Involve in the planning and execution

of horizontal gravel packs, multilateral wells (level 3 and 4)

etc. Ensure that the trials are executed and close out with

recommendations for follow up.

. Part of "Programme Build" process. This is the corporate plan

for the next five years of activity for the company. Give Well

Engineering and Well Intervention input to the programme.

1998 to 2000 : Drilling Supervisor (Petroleum Development Oman, South Oman

Asset)

. Lead a field team and execute well engineering programmers on new and

existing wells.

. Involved in improving safety and performance in well intervention and

drilling units. Ensured conformance of PDO's Health Safety and

Environment policies, quality management principles and waste

management standards at the wellsite.

. Actively involved in training of new Omani well engineers to become

Supervisors on well site.

1997 to 1998 : Wellsite Drilling Engineer & Night Drilling Supervisor

. Job consisted of co-coordinating well site planning, cost monitoring,

programming and execution of activities related to well design and

sub-surface engineering.

. Provided technical support to Drilling Supervisor on well design

changes and variations to well programs. Monitored technical

performance of service contractors against agreed indicators.

Contributed to the HSE performance of the rigs. Supervised drilling

of CECD horizontal wells in South Oman.

1994 to 1997 : Drilling Engineer

. Worked as a Drilling Engineer for ONGC, National oil company in

India. My job was to write programmes (Geo Technical Order) for an

Offshore Jack up Rig in Bombay High. The wells included vertical,

deviated, extended reach wells. The Rig was engaged in exploratory

wells, cluster drilling and workover operations.I was also involved

in piling operations team for the different Rigs in Bombay High.

1992 to 1989 : Night Toolpusher, Driller / Asst. Driller / Trainee .

. Worked as a Night Tool Pusher for ONGC on an offshore jack-up rig in

Bombay high. Supervised the drilling and work over of wells from

platforms

. Worked as a Driller on an offshore jack-up rig in Bombay High.

Involved with different operations like ERD wells, Clamp On wells,

Stand Alone exploratory wells, horizontal wells etc.

Team Leader for the integrated team which won Gold in PDO Chairman's

Award for Excellence in 2006. The award was given to my team for

developing a new way for intervention in live Beam Pumps / Progressive

cavity pumps. This technology is now a routine operation in PDO (more

than 200 installed) and has added enormous value in terms of additional

oil.
