Excel, Dec Basic, Datatrieve, Remedy, COBOL, SourceSafe, Java
Operating Systems: Windows, Vax/VMS, UNIX, DOS
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
JPMorgan Chase, Chicago, Illinois
Programmer Analyst, Application Development & Support, New Technology (2006 to 2009)
• Performed maintenance on VB.Net and VB programs that extracted, formatted, and delivered custom reports to
end users of a global Sybase database. Converted the VB Email routines from Lotus Notes Email to Microsoft
Outlook providing clients with timely delivery of critical business data.
• Built and modified complex Excel VBA routines to facilitate the balancing of daily reports and provide time
sensitive financial reports to business units. With summary information provided by the VBA routines, business
managers could quickly and easily spot errors made in online data entry and balance workloads appropriately
within their groups.
• Designed and built an MS Access database to house critical transaction data from a Dec/Vax system achieving
a significant savings for the corporation in hardware and software expenses.
• Provided end user support on the servers and applied application upgrades. Evaluated and debugged complex
system problems and then documented and trained support staff members on problem resolution techniques
• Gathered design requirements from business unit managers and then built SQL scripts to extract data from the
Global Trade Sybase database. Reports were critical for evaluating the bank’s financial position during the
economic crisis in 2008 and 2009.
Technical Specialist Lead, International Trade Systems (1996 to 2006)
• Eliminated re-keying of information into a 2nd system providing significant improvements in transaction
turnaround time for our clients including reducing errors in transposition, ease in flexibility for updates, improved
audit capabilities and improving the speed and quality of transaction processing
• Initiated the creation of a document/payment processing sub system written in Basic which also enabled word
processing, Telex Transmissions and tracking, and Swift message transmissions and tracking. Directed and
executed all of the design, coding, testing and production installation to implement the document/payment
processing sub system.
• Managed a team of consultants in building an EDI communications process that was designed in conjunction
with Walt Disney Corporation enhancing the transaction initiation process and saving the client significant time
and expense.
• Led an initiative to transition from a Dec Vax system to a UNIX and Microsoft server based global trade
transaction processing system including the design, build, and testing of multiple conversion processes.
• Led the systems group in converting all major interfaces (DDA, GL, MIS, Exposure, and Revenue Reporting) to
new internal enterprise systems and concurrently tested and fixed all Y2K bugs.
Programmer Analyst, Application Development & Support -- Investor Security Services (1994-1995)
• Assigned as the lead technical specialist in the configuration, purchase and setup of 4 Dec CPUs used to
manage security transaction processing between investors and the Federal Reserve Bank. Received
outstanding customer service award and recognition by executive management as a result of the success of
this project.
• Replaced a legacy Four-Phase system with a new generation UNIX data collection application system and
subsequently designed and built a file transmission subsystem to transmit batch files to the IBM mainframe
using FTP. This subsystem was written in Basic and had a user interface with the capability to select which files
to transfer and then track. As a result, this sub system prevented duplications of transmissions and verified the
status of transmissions.
