PowerPoint, MS-Visio), Arena

Work/Internship Experience:

ARAMARK Corporation, Tempe, AZ

Aug '09-present

Job Title: Lean Coordinator/Inventory Control Specialist

Responsibilities:

. Educate and create awareness among the staff the importance of

implementing lean into their work culture; Made the 5S methodology be

implemented throughout the organization at all levels

. Maintain inventory levels at a c-store using conventional MRP

solutions

. Implement Value-Stream mapping, to facilitate in reduction of waste in

the product-customer cycle

City of Tempe group, Tempe, AZ

Jan '09-May '09

Job Title: Process Improvement Intern (Lean/Six Sigma-DMAIC)

Responsibilities:

. Defined project goals and collected data for the "Orbit

Jupiter"(forward) route. Value-Stream Mapping was implemented and

initiated in building the future To-Be state of the route

. Important parameters like the in/out commuter distributions were

deduced from the data (~Define, Measure)

. Simulated and analyzed the Orbit Jupiter(forward) bus route(As-Is

model) in Tempe, AZ using Simulation software SLAM-II,

Arena(~Analyze)

. Proposed recommendations for improving the route based on the analysis

and results (~Improve)

Achievements:

. Recommendations made for Orbit Jupiter (forward) route have been

implemented practically and proved very effective (To-Be model)

(~Control)

. It not only increased the performance parameter (Number of commuters

per mile) for the route, but also reduced the cost of one minibus

(i.e. around $872/day)

Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), Hyderabad, India

Oct '07-Dec '07

Job Title: Programmer Analyst Trainee

Responsibilities:

. Created test strategies for the software applications; Wrote test

scenarios, test cases for the same

. Executed the software to check for its functionality, followed by

generation of test metrics

Applications used: Test Director, QTP, Automation testing (test scripts)

Tecumseh Products India Private Limited (TPIPL), Hyderabad, India

Sep '06-Dec '06

Job Title: Quality Intern

Responsibilities:

. Collected data(batches of Compressors) to analyze the quality

parameter Less Air Gap (LAG), which was responsible for almost 25.3%

of their process related rejections

. Implemented SPC charts to identify the defective batches and its

causes

. Implemented the 5 Why's technique and a Fish-Bone diagram to identify

the root cause

Achievements: Analysis and recommendations facilitated an 8.5% decrease in

the number of rejections with an 40% increase in efficiency of the machine

that used to assemble the compressor (stator, rotor)

Industrial Experience:

Product-Analysis at SAMKRG Pistons, Hyderabad, India

Aug '05

A detailed analysis from scratch (composition details of alloy for the

piston - the design details - manufacturing details - the final machining)

has been made under the supervision of Prof V.M.Shamraj, Head of the

Mechanical department of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and

Technology (an affiliation of Osmania University, India)

Projects:

> "A Generalized Linear Model(GLM) on 'Walmart' data to investigate the

factors that affect the decision to use the self- checkout service"

. Self-checkout technology critical to any business in terms of

reducing operating costs; Data collected at a 'Walmart' store in

Tempe

. GLM built to reveal factors that would affect the customers'

decision to self checkout; JMP and SAS software used for analysis

. Initiatives taken to improve the work flow within their system

through changing the design by which they operate

> "A Designed Experiment(DOE) to investigate the factors affecting the

Back-up Time of a Laptop Battery"

. Conducted a Full-factorial experiment with 4 factors at 2 levels (2

replications)

. ANOVA table from 'Design Expert' software used to identify

significant factors, their interactions

. Insignificant factors were removed (saves the time and money) from

the original model to get a final refined predictive model, which

can be used to estimate the Battery's backup time

> "Regression Analysis* on Formula one data to investigate the factors

that affect the ability of a racer to score points in a race"

. Built a predictive model and identified significant regressors in

relation with response

. Step-wise regression, Best subsets regression methods to identify

significant regressors in the model; Analysis carried out using

Minitab software

. Final model validated using Cross-validation technique

> "Green Wheels"- An Automobile Emission Check Software

. Software an initiative to reduce environmental pollution. 'GO

GREEN' was the word right from start

. Built on VB.Net framework with MS-Access database, Information

Retrieval using SQL queries
