Academic Projects

1. Web application functional testing using RFT

In this project, we performed web application (www.amazon.com) functional testing using

Rational Functional Tester. Using RFT, we performed the functional testing of search and

shopping cart features. We recorded the UI scenarios of the multiple test cases and played

them back with different sets of data with the data coming from a data pool. After executing

all the test cases, an email is also sent with the results.

Responsibilities:

• I led a team of 3 members for this project

• Design and developed the test cases

• Written a 40 page report

• Demoed the project to the professor and the class

2. Online books checkout system

I developed an online books checkout system that can be used by libraries and schools. Users

can login to the system; create an account and checkout/reserve a book. The book is reserved

for them for 7 days. The system sends an email to the user’s email address when he checks

out a book and when it is due.

Technologies: Java, JSP, HTML, Apache Tomcat and MySQL

3. Binary Search Tree

I developed a Binary Search tree as a user interface with Java. The application is a multiple-

nodes and find a particular node. Tree traversals can also be performed. The tree can be saved

to a file before closing and can be retrieved from it later.

In this project, I developed a tool to simulate a bourne shell command line interpreter. The

tool accepts any shell command (ls, cat, grep etc) and displays the results.
