OBJECTIVE
To work as a structural analyst, design engineer, or ground test engineer
in the areas of advanced composite structures, flight structures, and/or
aerospace structure development and evaluation activities as an individual
contributor or a lead engineer of an analysis, development, and/or testing
group
SUMMARY
Accumulated over 30 years of combined experience in developing the
procedures and performing structural analyses, in correlating the
structural simulation results and test data in support of hardware
development activities, in presenting the analysis results to the
management and customers, and in publishing the final structural analysis
reports to fulfill contract or task requirements of the project.
Developed CAPS (Composite Analysis Program System ) algorithm for the
purpose of
creating structural simulation models of advanced composite structures.
Experienced utilizing finite element analysis procedure and CAD software.
Performed many large deformation, nonlinear material, dynamic, vibration,
and viscoelasticity problems using finite element procedures.
Familiar with mechanical and thermal material properties of many metals,
plastics, and composites.
EXPERIENCE
Staff Engineer/Structures & Materials (2004 - 2008)- Pratt & Whitney, East
Hartford, CT
( Performed thermostructural analyses for the jet engine combustors for
the ILC and
Talon X programs and augmentor duct for the F119 program. Developed 3D
finite
element models for the purpose of evaluating structural integrity and
lifing calculation
of the hardware. Linear and nonlinear ANSYS code and LS-Dyna codes
were used for
the analyses. Presented analysis results to various levels of design
reviews.
Provided statement of work, analysis directions, and reviewed the
completed results by
the outsourced analysis contracts.
Structural Analysis Specialist (2000 - 2004)- Pratt & Whitney Space
Propulsion, San Jose, CA
( Performed structural analyses for metallic and composite THAAD rocket
motor
raceway for various loading and boundary conditions using PATRAN and
ABAQUS
finite element analysis codes in linear, nonlinear, and
viscoelasticity analyses
procedures.
( Simulated Minuteman III Third Stage rocket motor case thermal curing
process for
an economic and efficient case curing study.
( Completed structural analysis on GMD rocket motor case analysis and
instrument
stand-offs on fwd dome.
( Performed various thermostructural analyses for metallic and advanced
composite
rocket motor components and assemblies using the finite element code
(ABAQUS &
PATRAN).
Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer (1996-1999), Raytheon Aerospace Co., Moffet
Field, CA
( Designed and analyzed aircraft's local structures for the modification
and installations
of antennas and remote sensing detectors on board of the DC-8 of NASA
research aircraft and the Black Hawk Helicopter at Ames Research
Center.
( Designed and analyzed Black Hawk floor panel for heavy equipment
installation.
( Coordinated with machine shops in NASA Ames Research Center for the
fabrication of
designed parts and their assemblies and supervised for installation on
board of aircraft.
( Worked as a structural inspection auditor for the flight readiness
reviews of the
research Black Hawk Helicopter.
Product Engineer (1993-1995), ITW Camtex, Fremont, CA
( Designed injection molding parts for electronics packaging, computer
chip carrying
