Plasma, as well as Teflon and other flouropolymers.
Solutions are provided for corrosion, wear, release, high
heat, FDA compliance and dimensional restoration.
I covered MI, IL, OH, IN, KY Ontario, and traveled to

formulator of Nano and High temperature coatings. I handled
OEM accounts in the central Midwest including: MI, OH, IN,

I concentrated on accounts I was unable to help in the past,
and developed
new relationships with companies such as Harley Davidson,
International,
Arctic Cat, Buell, Polaris and Caterpillar. I worked within
engineering
groups and obtained leads from other groups.
I was responsible for obtaining prints or samples, delivering
coated parts,
following up on samples and quotes and ferreting out new
business
opportunities with new and existing accounts. I attended
trade shows and did many web searches for my leads. I was
part of fourth quarter downsizing due to financial

Sales Engineer
Barker Brothers is a 95-year-old manufacturer of buffs:
woven and non-woven. They manufacture: cloth, cloth and
sisal, all sisal, either treated, (water or solvent based dip
treatments) or untreated buffs.
They are used to cut, polish, remove lines or mold marks, and
buff metal. Typically on stainless of plated ferrous steel.
Bardo makes poured and non-woven abrasive wheels used to sand
wood, MDF, or to cut or finish metal.
I typically called on OEM's: Chicago Faucets, Dannon and
Automated Wheel, and buffing and Plating shops that supply
Harley Davidson, and the hardware or furniture industry.
My territory: MI, IN, WI, IL, and ONT, never had a direct
salesman, so I enjoyed cultivating new business, solving
problems, finding new opportunities, and growing
relationships. The company downsized.
Aug.2004-Oct.2005 General Magnaplate Linden, NJ Technical
Sales
General Magnaplate is a world wide metal finisher
specializing in Hard Coat Anodizing, Electro-less Nickel,
PVD, and many other synergistic coatings. These engineered
solutions have solved lubricity, corrosion and wear
resistance, galling, release, including high temperature, and
Rockwell problems for companies including: Alcoa, NASA,
General Dynamics, Dover, Dannon, Battelle, and Nestle'.
I was responsible for building up MI, OH, and IN, and western
ONT. The territory hadn't had a consistent, "local"
salesman. It was serviced from Wisconsin or Corporate/NJ.
Mine was a newly created position. I serviced existing
accounts by introducing our entire line of products.
My job description entailed seeing 5 accounts, four days a
week and do paperwork, trip reports and set-up the following
week on the 5th day. I also was responsible for shipping
samples to the three General Magnaplate service centers I
supported and synchronized OPT (a lead management system
similar to ACT).
I typically saw 17-18 accounts and traveled 700-800 miles per
week. I concentrated on owners and engineers, rather than
purchasing when possible. I also cultivated new business by
following up on trade show, Internet, referral and
advertising leads.

Founded my own Company to represent Paulin Ind. Fastener
Manufacturing
and Seagrave UV Coating Manufacturer in MI, OH, and IN. I
cold called, obtained line trials and samples to match &
cultivated customer relationships.
2001-2002 ND Industries Clawson, MI
Material Sales and Applications Specialist
ND is a manufacturer and applicator of microencapsulate
adhesives. I joined the team to launch a new business
endeavor, (dip spin application of our coatings) which
required convincing customers to leave their current
suppliers and try our fledgling operation. I had 6 Million
Dollars of projects in various test stages with spring,
stamping, and fastener manufacturers, but the Michigan
economy following 9/11 forced ND to abandon the venture.
1989-2001 Whitford Corporation Frazer, PA
Sales
Whitford's a global MFG of liquid and powder coatings
including PTFE PFA, ECTFE and FEP. When
I left, the primary focus was VOC compliance.
I directed 5 Million Dollars annually in Industrial Coating
Sales in North America. Grew territory 10% annually by
expanding existing business and cultivating new. I called on
OEM's, Applicators, (Platers, Coaters, and Metal Finishers),
and Specifiers including: Ford, GM, Chrysler, JCI, Dana,
Textron, Navistar, BTR, GenCorp, Cooper Tire, and Oil Patch,
(Houston and Alberta). Helped applicators obtain new
specifications as V.O.C. compliant performance coatings
became available
I obtained specification approval for both coating and
applicators at the Big Three auto companies and worked with
engineers on projects that resulted in Patents.
I represented Whitford as part of a Ford Fastener Finish Team
to travel to the UK and as the member of the GM Weather Strip
Committee.

I sold dip spin application equipment throughout the United
States and Canada to plating and coating applicators. I was
responsible for sizing lines needed to meet customer's
production requirements, quoting, and coordinating samples
