* Project #7
Title : Agile Approvals and Validator improvements
Duration : Apr-2010 to present
Client : Leading semi conductor manufacturing company
Team size : 25
Role : Agile consultant and Development Lead
Overview:
Approvals and data validations should be an integral part of an Agile PLM
system in any major company that has multiple users making data changes to
items in Agile. The out of the box approval feature in Agile is very basic
and the validations that can be enforced are trivial. This project aims to
bring approvals and validations under a single roof by implementing an
'Agile centric rule engine' that allows implementation of powerful yet
robust data validation and approvals. With the implementation of the
project, there is more value to the validation, approval flow in the
client's PLM systems.
Apart from the rules framework, a regression data abstraction framework
will also be designed that will allow for regression testing of the
validation and approval rules.
Responsibilities:
. Analysis of the requirements
. Determining the right validations that could be brought in at an earlier
stage in the workflow by use of event framework in Agile 9.3
. Co-architecting the rules framework, regression testing framework.
. Sharing the design with the development team.
. Leading the team in the development phase.
. Participate in the system testing phase.
. Prepare the implementation plan and work in tight coordination between
the UAT team and the IT team
* Project #6
Title : Enterprise Agile PLM 9.3 upgrade
Duration : Sep-2009 to Apr-2010
Client : Leading semi conductor manufacturing company
Team size : 18
Role : Agile consultant and Development Lead
Overview:
The project aimed to upgrade the existing enterprise 9.2.2.1 Agile PLM
instance to 9.3. The database and application server upgrade was performed
in house. Attribute redlining and Event process extensions are major
motivations for the upgrade.
During the upgrade all the custom process extensions were converted to java
6. Ant scripts were designed to allow for flawless software configuration
management and easy management and deployment of the large number of
process extensions.
A generic process extension framework was developed that allows for quick
and easy development of new process extensions without having to worry
about the most commonly needed features. This allowed developers to
concentrate on the logic for the process extensions which eventually
brought down development time for newer process extensions.
Responsibilities:
. Gather requirements for the project.
. Architect a framework for process extensions.
. Direct the upgrade of process extension code to 9.3
. Closely work with Oracle support team on the various bugs/issues
identified in Agile 9.3 and apply HotFixes into the
development/test/production environment
. Participate and support IT Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing
Significant Contributions:
. Involved in the decision making process on the required 9.3 features to
be enabled for the client needs.
. Participated in the configuration changes.
. Developed the Ant scripts, managed the framework design and the process
extension code upgrade
. Co-ordinated the inhouse upgrade to 9.3, schema backup and restore
activities
* Project #5
Title : Agile Cycle time reduction
Duration : Jun-2009 to Sep-2009
Client : Leading semi conductor manufacturing company
Team size : 4
Role : Agile consultant and Development Lead
Overview:
Project was aimed at analysing data in Agile to determine the cycle time
for the approvals of change orders and identifying bottlenecks in the
business process. The project involved extraction of data from Agile and
then feeding it into the enterprise datawarehouse for the organizational
business intelligence needs for developing reports/dashboards that show
cycle time metrics data to senior management.
Responsibilities:
. Gather the requirements for the project and analyze the requirements.
. Propose technical design
. Direct the development of jobs to extract data from Agile.
. Collaborate with the business intelligence group and support the
development of the load jobs, reports and dashboards by providing
Agile knowledge to the team.
. Participate in the Integration Testing activities
Special Contribution:
. Since the jobs needed to be fast and use of SDK is very slow, direct
Agile database access was chosen and in process learnt a greal deal
about the Agile database schema.
* Project #4
Title : Enterprise Agile PLM Implementation and sustaining
Duration : Jul-2007 to Jun-2009
Client : Leading semi conductor manufacturing company
Team size : 25
Role : Agile consultant and Development Lead
Overview:
The project was a major PLM implementation to migrate data and applications
from legacy systems to Oracle's Agile PLM. This project involved data
conversion activities, interface design and integration, development of
custom process extensions to support specific needs. This instance was to
support three different client groups with different business processes and
requirements. This was one of the major IT initiative by the client at the
time.
Apart from custom process extensions, an elaborate set of approvals and
validations were also designed to manage data changes and prevent interface
failures when feeding data to other systems. Agile Content Service was used
to deliver data to downstream systems via TIBCO and Datastage. The business
process in place and compatibility challenges between various systems
involved called for a very complex interface system.
Responsibilities:
. Participate in business process reengineering meetings and provide
inputs regarding Agile's capability.
. Manage process extension development
. Design the interfaces to/from Agile and support integration testing
. Lead the development team during the sustaining period.
Significant Contributions:
. Provided innovative ideas for application of business requirements in
Agile.
. Architected the inbound and outbound interfaces to/from Agile and
participated in the development. Agile was integrated with over 10
downstream systems including SAP either via realtime TIBCO, Datastage
interface or by means of scheduled batch jobs.
. Directed the development of custom process extensions. Major process
extensions include:
o Smart approvals - designed to determine what approvers are
required based on attributes/BOM that got changed and rules
stored in a database and allowed the user to choose the user
from the appropriate set of users
o Validations - to validate attributes, BOM based on an eloborate
set of rules.

Title : Agile Upgrade to 9.2.1 and sustaining
Duration : Jun-2006 to Jul-2007
Client : Leading semi conductor manufacturing company
Team size : 10
Role : Agile developer/analyst
Overview:
A small organization within our client were using an old visual basic based
Agile version and were facing problems in being able to express products as
site specific objects. They were upgrading to Agile 9.2.1 which supported
site specific parts and BOMs. The project involved upgrading to 9.2.1 and
migrating all custom process extensions to java.
Responsibilities:
. Developing process extensions in Java.
. Development of a JSP based system called Bizrules that assists users
to choose approvers.
* Project #2
Title : Problem Tracking System
