Software Engineer (DirectX Graphics)
NVIDIA Corporation (Dec 2006 - July 2008)
. Participated in a team which developed the NVIDIA DirectX
Graphics driver. Responsibilities mainly included C/C++ systems
programming, debugging the driver on test machine with WinDbg
tool.
. Collaborated with the testing team to help them to come up with
testing plans for newly developed graphics driver.
. Worked with customers to understand their specific needs from
the graphics driver developer perspective.
Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)
Sasken Communications Technologies Limited (July 2004 - Aug 2005)
. Participated in a project which included of development of a
port code for Microsoft's WMT9 decoders for a VLIW processor.
. Module owner for the module named ASF Parser. ASF (Advanced
System Format) is file format for Windows Media Files.
. Developed Perl scripts to test the ASF parser module with
different types of test vectors.
. Worked on an in-house training project on Code Composer Studio
which included coding on ARM9 processors.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
Distributed Operating Systems Projects
. Implemented a simple logical ring with multiple nodes running on
different machine. Used socket programming in Java for this.
. Developed a code in Java to calculate power of matrix using
Strassen's algorithm. This was to be done using client/server
socket programming model and taking multi-threading issues in
account.
. Implemented a CHORD P2P protocol with its basic functions using
Java Remote Method APIs.
Computer Networks: Study of HomePlug AV Standard for Power Line
Communication
. Discussed the features of MAC and PHY layers in HomePlug AV.
. Carried a detailed study of Windowed OFDM,Turbo Convolution
Codes which are used in PHY layer of HomePlug AV standard.
. Implemented Impulse Noise Simulation in Matlab which is very
common environment for PLC.
. Compared performance of LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check Codes)
and Turbo codes over PLC environment.
Wireless Networks: Implementation of Energy Aware AOMDV in NS2
. AOMDV is a multipath version of AODV (Ad-hoc Distance Vector
routing Protocol).
. Our project implemented an extension to AOMDV which takes into
account the energy of nodes to find the energy efficient route.
Embedded Systems: Code Compression Algorithm Implementation
. Implemented a bit-mask based code compression algorithm in C.
The original code consisted of 32 bit binary entries.
. Improved the efficiency of compressed code by introducing run
length encoding which will replace a sequence of identical
instructions with corresponding dictionary index and its count.
Reconfigurable Computing: Implementation of DES algorithm on FPGA
. Implemented DES encryption algorithm on FPGA to maximize the
throughput performance.
. Compared the performance of FPGA based DES with software
implemented one and found out close to 67X speed up.
Other Projects
. Digital Filtering Projects: Implemented various FIR and IIR
filters in MATLAB. For FIR filters compared the performance of
multiband FIR filter with CIC filters. For IIR filters studied
its power spectrum analysis in the presence of noise. Also
compared different filter architectures.
. Yashodhan Systems (Undergrad Project) Remote Terminal Unit:
Implemented a fully configurable data acquisition system with
89C51 Microcontroller and 4 serial EEPROMS for database.
Developed full algorithm for the software of the project along
with C and assembly programming.
