As a veteran software developer with 15 years experience in Oracle and SQL, I have engineered web based and PC
applications with GUI interfaces using a variety of development tools. I am well versed in all phases of the software life
cycle, and have utilized this knowledge on a variety of projects covering several industries. My strong verbal and written
communications skills have enabled me to build positive relationships with customers. My career documents an ability to
learn quickly, act decisively, and produce quality products.

Professional Experience
Information Analyst – HP Enterprise Services (formerly EDS) 1994 2010
2001 2010
HP/EDS: Deltacom Account
Supported and maintained Deltacom’s commissions systems. Executed weekly and monthly processes to calculate
commission payments for sales reps and dealers. From 2006 2010, supported 300+ users of SalesLogix, a customer
relationship management application used by Deltacom’s sales force. Provided end user technical support and
management reporting. Planned, coordinated, and executed several major database and system upgrades. Customized
SalesLogix application to meet client’s needs by adding a number of new windows and data fields.
Significant Accomplishments:
Designed, developed, and maintained an Oracle database to calculate commissions payments for Deltacom’s sales
force. Created web based reports to allow sales reps and managers to view their commissions online.
Coordinated Oracle database upgrades (from 8i to 9i, and 9i to 10g), and several major upgrades to SalesLogix.
Created detailed test plans and worked closely with all affected groups to ensure a smooth migration.
Produced numerous ad hoc reports for commissions and management reporting, extracting data from an Oracle
database. Developed back end processes in PL/SQL to extract data from Deltacom’s AS400 billing system and
populate Oracle tables for reporting.
Designed and implemented a sales hierarchy data model in Oracle, to be used for commissions, management
reporting, and tracking changes to Deltacom’s sales force.
Gathered and assessed requirements from internal business units. Worked closely with marketing team to incorporate
functionality into SalesLogix for new product releases. From 2006 2010, provided end user support for SalesLogix on a
daily basis, troubleshooting issues and answering questions.
Automated previously manual, time consuming processes; created a web based version of an Account Status Report
that had been generating 70,000 printed pages per month.
2000 2001
EDS: DSIDDOMS Account
Supported a client/server application called DMLSS (Defense Medical Logistics Support System), using
PowerBuilder to access an Informix database. Designed, coded, and tested numerous changes to
PowerBuilder code, as well as stored procedures written in PL/SQL. Performed quality assurance testing to
catch problems before each new version of the code was released to customer sites. Diagnosed and fixed
production problems found at customer sites. Worked closely with team members in several different
locations, coordinating code changes among several teams of developers to ensure consistent functionality
across the DMLSS application.
Significant Accomplishments:
Converted more than 100 PowerBuilder objects from release 2.0 to 3.0 of the DMLSS application.
Developed 11 new reports in PowerBuilder and wrote stored procedures in PL/SQL to populate the tables containing
the data for these reports during the month end batch cycle.

Proposed and implemented several new database tables, as well as a number of changes to existing tables.
Fixed a number of problems arising from the conversion from PowerBuilder 6.0 to 7.0
1997 2000
EDS: GMAC Mortgage Account
Designed, developed, and maintained several client-server applications using PowerBuilder to access an
Oracle database. Designed and developed a PowerBuilder application called NeLI (New Loan Interface),
and participated in all phases of the software life-cycle: gathering requirements, developing detailed
business and technical design specifications, and coding major portions of the application, including three
very complex windows that used tab controls. Provided production support for the PowerBuilder application,
including creation of executable files and maintenance of back-end processes written in PL/SQL.
Significant Accomplishments:
Coded windows based on detailed design specifications provided by the customer. Developed the main reconciliation
screen for the CARS application, rated by the customer as complexity 10 out of 10.
Created an application prototype in PowerBuilder with more than 40 windows. Presented demo of prototype to
customers and incorporated their feedback into the design.
Created a detailed Y2K test plan for the NeLI application, and ensured that sufficient testing was done ahead of time
that no problems were encountered during the Y2K transition.
EDS: Virginia Medicaid Account 1994 1996
Produced reports using NATURAL to access an Oracle database, on both Windows and UNIX platforms. From 1995-
1996, led a team of 5-10 people developing over 400 reports in NATURAL. Trained and mentored new team members.
Significant Accomplishments:
Defined and enforced various reporting standards, such as the use of common report headers for all reports and
coding standards for NATURAL, that were used by the reporting team.
Designed, coded, and tested more than 70 reports.
Sr. Associate Programmer, IBM, Research Triangle Park, NC 1989 1994
Designed, developed, and maintained an OS/2 based application, written in C, to estimate storage for VTAM, one of
IBM’s largest networking products. Worked closely with customers during the design phase to ensure that the new
program would meet their requirements.
