IBM GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES (GBS) 2002-2010
Global Design Team Leader (2005-2010)
Led a global team of up to 25 Learning Design Consultants (LDCs) and Instructional Designers (IDs)
spearheading the planning, design, production, and delivery of learning solutions for 50,000 practitioners across
all GBS service lines, industries, and functional communities.
Increased IBM profitability through the following sample learning projects with high business impact:
•
Analytics as a Core Competency: enabled 50K GBS practitioners to lead conversations with clients
about IBM’s game-changing Business Analytics service line.
Systems Engineering and Architecture: enabled project managers, IT architects, and consultants to
collaborate more effectively on complex transformation engagements.

causes of customer dissatisfaction and poor financial returns.
Recognized by LDCs and IDs as a superior leader and mentor who made a significant difference in helping
•
individuals to “raise their game” as IBM learning professionals.
Led the GBS Learning & Knowledge (L&K) Future of Learning at IBM Project. Produced a comprehensive
•
and integrated collection of wiki pages articulating the L&K point of view that was a key influence in achieving
the target shift in L&K from 70% classroom / 30% virtual to 30% classroom / 70% virtual, resulting in a 40%
reduction in education delivery costs.
Collaborated with IBM Global Learning Community (GLC) to run a Social Learning Blog Jam that expanded
•
the GLC’s applied knowledge of informal learning and social media and helped the GLC to use new media to
identify its own learning requirements and design tailored learning solutions for the community.
Introduced Flash-enabled flipbooks as the centerpiece component in the conversion of face-to-face
•
classroom training to blended learning, a first-time innovation for L&K that streamlined deployment by
eliminating the requirement for virtual classroom instructors.
Introduced a JavaScript / Dojo programming solution to deliver highly interactive, web-based learning,
•
accessible for people with disabilities. First-time innovation that set a new standard for delivering interactive
self-paced learning.
Raised awareness and drove adoption of Agile development practices across the L&K education
•
development (ED Dev) team that reduced time to market, encouraged rapid prototyping, and improved
collaboration between team and customers.
Played a leading role in the development and deployment of the ED Dev Showcase wiki, which provided
•
descriptive data, examples, and guidance for over 15 reusable development assets using diverse media.
