Principal in regional consulting firm providing facilitation for strategic planning oriented

towards organizational performance. Developed a comprehensive strategic planning process

including scenario planning, SWOT, internal/external trend analysis, competitive market analysis

and branding strategies, performance metrics, budget and resource analysis, organizational and

staff competency analysis/planning, organizational structure analysis, balanced scorecard,

benchmarking, alignment, performance dashboard development, and iterative process design for

ongoing evaluation and refinement of plan execution.

Strategic Planning

•Developed comprehensive strategic planning process that incoporates Scenario based

assessments of future uncertainties, mission/vision/values, objectives, strategies, performance

metrics, staff and organizational competencies and intervention planning, alignment, change

management and ongoing monitoring of execution. This comprehensive process addresses

many of the failings of traditional strategic planning and is ultimately based on

•Created financial projections, proformas, variance analysis and other reports.

•Initiated and led annual strategic planning process for all departments firm-wide.

•Used scenario based planning to create a mission critical systems plan leading to 99.9%

information system uptime.

•Created a process and system for implementing goal based metrics including baselines,

benchmarks and targets for all projects.

•Worked with consultants to implement an alignment based action planning methodology

Organizational Change

•Envisioned and led an initiative to create an action-based metrics process to elevate and align

Business Results

•Initiated and led a multi-disciplinary project to implement a ERP and CRM systems including

Information Technology. This initiative was the primary cause of an increase in profitability

from 9% to 17% of revenues in one year.

•Envisioned and led a firm-wide initiative to develop a disciplined Project Management system

to be implemented on all projects throughout the firm. This initiative was the primary cause

of an increase in profitability from 17% to 25% in one year.

Technical Results

•Developed an enterprise portal based on Microsoft Sharepoint 3.0, X1 Search and NSI

Autostor, including operational information, knowledge management resources, enterprise

search, wiki and blog sites, training materials, document management and more.

Led regional computer systems and network integration firm with offices in Boulder and

Downtown Denver. Grew revenues by over 50% per year for eight successive years. Established

partnerships with companies like Kroger and Prodigy to develop in-store computer retail outlets.
