A well-established Telecom sector in Pakistan as (OSP Team Leader) June
2004 to 2009.
Optical Fiber Cable Maintenance:
. Promoted to manage 18 teams in all over Pakistan to carry out
maintenance of laid Optical fiber network of Mobilink, an Orascom
company of Pakistan.
Preventive, OTDR reports & Corrective Maintenance:
. All measurements for preventive maintenance shall be carried out as
per prior agreed time schedule, which is given by the Customer.
. The testing of all fibers shall be done, as once in a month for each
of the block sections and reports shall be submitted.
. Any defects observed in the OFC cable or in any of the associated
equipment shall be attended in consultation with the Customer at site
during every visit to the stations for measurements, and reports in
case of any discrepancies are observed.
Breakdown Optical fiber Network Maintenance:
This includes the following:
. Mobilization of well equipped teams with all required equipment and
skilled manpower on for fault identification & rectification
. Test link attributes such as splice loss/link loss after the
rectification of fault
. Generating proper documentation in specified formats for the event in
context of :
1. Breakdown maintenance record
- Call registration
- Fault rectification record
- Call closure record
2. Down time and uptime analysis
. Further the following records shall be submitted to customer on
monthly basis
1. Internal records of the issue and consumption of spare parts,
tools and consumables etc
Regular MIS reporting to customer as per the agreed formats
Deployment of O&M team:
. The maintenance of OFC routes on regular basis i.e., 24*7 maintenance
service is to be provided and therefore in the event of any
emergencies, we will crew to attend to such work. Scope of work shall
include Routine OFC Maintenance, Breakdown OFC Maintenance
. The team consists of Team Leader, Supervisor, cable jointer,
Technician/ Patroller, Helper. (For about 200 Kms)
. Tools & Equipment : Our team will be equipped with the following tolls
& equipments- Multi Meter, Splicing Machine, OTDR Meter, Road Meter,
Power Meter, Duct Cutter, Telephone/Mobile phone, Optical Fiber Tool
Kit (Sheet cutter, Striper, Cleaver, Ceramic scissors, Loose Tube
cutter, Ceramic Blade etc.,)
. Updating the As Built Diagram when needed with GPS coordinates.
. Performs the characterization and Testing of laid OFC covering the
following tests.
o Fiber attenuation @ 1310,1550,1625 nm(differentiation between
pressure points and joints)
o Optical link loss
o Insertion Loss
. Execution and supervision of installation and maintenance works of
optical fiber Network.
. To make it ensure the presence on the site where the cable is damaged
or fault is occurred to provide the satisfaction of the customer.
. Execution of the change over work of optical fiber network with the
coordination of the customer by taking the down time.
. To issue the WO to different contractors with complete details for the
execution of the civil work etc.
. Coordination with the customer to execute the major projects well in
time.
. Routine inspection of site work and closing of relevant work orders
with the help of the contractors.
. Quality inspection of the maintenance work with the representative of
the customer to provide the better satisfaction regarding the network.
. To provide the complete documentation report to customer regarding the
finished projects of optical fiber network.
Field Experience:
Working experience in the field of optical fiber is as under.
. Working experience in the field of optical fiber laying, pulling,
jointing and termination.
. Hand on Experience in the operation of testing equipments, EXFO FTB
400, 200, 300, Ecterna 8000 OTDR's, VISUAL FAULT LOCATOR, LIGHT SOURCE
POWER METER, and MAX TESTER.
. Hand on experience in jointing of Optical Fiber by using Fusion
Splicer FUJIKURA 50's, 60's & Mechanical splice for temporary links.
. Coordination with other departments like transmission and planning
after removing the faults of optical fiber network.
. Experience in ODF (Optical Distribution Frame) Termination.
. Testing and Troubleshooting of Optical Fiber link from OLT (Optical
Line Terminal) to customer site ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
. Doing the acceptance job to check contractor's work done and
assuring that job is completed as per Standards.
. Maintained all optical fiber media for FTTH (GPON) infrastructure and
its commissioning and testing.
. Installation of F.O. cables in ODF, to IFP, FDH-(W/I/O). Optical
Fiber splitter installation. Drop fiber termination also maintain the
fibers record.
. Working Experience with different Well Reputed Organization like
MOBILINK, PTCL, NTC and SPECIAL COMMUNICATION ORGANISATION (SCO).
