BP Corporation 1997 - Present

Program Manager (2008 to Present) - Houston, TX

o Consulting senior management on business improvement efforts and coaching

the local refinery staff on the implementation of Best Practices,

Continuous Improvement, and Business Process Standardization.

o My differentiated accomplishment has been the delivery of ca. $30m/yr

improvements in Business Unit's profitability based upon the commercial

and manufacturing process optimization.

o I developed, sold, and executed business, segment, and corporate level

strategies within BP.

o I instituted Best Practice work-processes and standardized tools within

BP Manufacturing Operations, R&D Organization, and Supply-Chain

Management.

BP's Operating Management System (OMS) - within the technical, process

engineering, and supply-chain optimization space.

efficiency gains via the improvements in how the technology programs were

planned, prioritized, developed, and deployed within the company.

o I managed a diverse team of 6 analysts and coordinators, developing the

strategy, resource allocation plans, portfolio of technology capital

o I created BP's first ever Technology Management System and the R&D

Portfolio & Planning model.

o I managed the external technology supply eco-system consisting of the

universities, national labs, and small venture R&D centers - to

o My team developed and provided external context, market research,

BP via strategic supply-chain operations, including the creation and

institutionalization of a novel working-capital optimization process

within BP Trading for $30m/yr profits.

o I managed a 20 people global team that successfully turned around the

chemicals, catalyst and precious metals supply-chains ($250m/yr spend)

within BP's Refining and Petrochemicals businesses.

o I spearheaded a global effort across BP Downstream PSCM to

institutionalize category management strategies and the One-Team

organizational approach to deliver highest possible value to the company.

o I instituted the low-cost country sourcing (China, India, and Eastern

Europe) within BP Supply-Chain.

o My team developed and embedded the low-cost country sourcing model and

working capital optimization, and instituted strategic cost management

framework within BP Downstream business.

Senior Business Analyst (2000 to 2003) - Houston, TX

o My responsibilities included market research, competitor intelligence,

manufacturing scheduling & planning for BP's refinery-chemicals star-site

in South Houston, and business development.

o My differentiated accomplishment was the delivery of over $80m in

improved margins via value-chain integration ("from the well-head to

plastics") over two years.

o I originated and steered business development and growth programs,

collectively worth $50m/yr.

o Led as the Commercial Single Point of Accountability (SPA) six different

capital expansion / investment projects with a total of ca. $150m capital

spend, and successfully delivered the front-end loading (FEL).

o I spearheaded the long-range business strategy and plan development for

BP's South Houston assets (one refinery, two chemical plants, and storage

/ supply assets).

o I participated in a lead role in completing due diligence for potential

acquisitions by the company in 2002.

o I managed a team of analysts and engineers that provided market

intelligence and margin opportunity analysis to the production teams and

the trading group in service of manufacturing divisions.

Technology Commercialization Leader (1997 to 2000) - Chicago, IL

o My responsibilities included R&D, technical consulting, and new

technology commercialization.

o My differentiated accomplishment was the concept to commercialization and

marketing of new process technologies to BP's refineries around the world

in two years.

o I marketed process technologies that generated incremental $40m/yr

profits for the business units.

o Delivered over $100m total value to the company via early

commercialization of two technologies.

o Provided technical and engineering consulting support to BP Amoco's

refineries throughout the world.
