2. HP (Innovation Team):
The HP Innovation Team project consisted of different application
handling used by HP. Automation was the main aim for these applications.
AAR - America Attach Rate
AAR is a downstream of ORE (Order Reporting Environment). Business
user's access AAR data via a reporting portal called MUSE 3.7. This
environment provides a Balanced Scorecard solution for all of the
businesses, geographies and supporting functions.
NASCAR - North American Sales Center Agent Reporting
NASCAR is an online, dynamic sales reporting tool. It is a web portal
offering sales metrics. It is supported by a SQL data warehouse that houses
historical sales performance data.
CID DBA - Dun & BradStreet Association
Automating a monthly task called CID DBA IDS (Initial Data Seeding)
process. In order to keep the monthly records updated on the database, D&B
collects data changes on a daily basis and makes the data available for use
within Customer Integration Manager on a monthly basis. IDS is the process
that updates the entire client database of HP with the latest D&B data.
My Role in the Project: Application Support
My Responsibilities:
. L4 Support Team Member.
. Production Maintenance support with 16/5 for the Oracle 9i & 10g
databases.
. Involved in stabilising the operations part of the applications by
automations.
. Performing some enhancement tasks/changes based on the requirements and
the request from the business.
3. Customer Identification:
CID application is the central customer (internal & external)
information repository used by HP for tracking of sales, orders and
shipments. All other applications use CID to map a customer to a particular
transaction.
CID project has three Databases
. CID-DBA (Dun & BradStreet Association),
. CID-CSI (Company Site Identification),
. CID-PERSON (CID Person ID)and one service
. CAS (CID Address Standardization).
Other checks, audits and processing (e.g. Unzipping, archiving and deleting
of flat files) involved in this process are done through UNIX shell scripts
on HP-UX (HP-UNIX) platform which are automated through cron jobs.
HP CID (Customer Identification) Support. Working on planning and creating
databases, managing databases, memory, physical and logical structures,
users and privileges, backup and recovery, database tuning for queries.
My Role in the Project: Oracle DBA
My Responsibilities:
. Ensuring that all the Databases are up & running fine.
. Handling L1, L2 and L3 activities in production support.
. Handling User Request and (OVSD) call monitoring.
. Monitoring the daily tasks, performing DBA activities.
. Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Oracle
10g on HP-UX.
. Creating primary database objects (tables, views, indexes) for
application developers.
. Updating/Adding/Removing Oracle users
. Monitoring/Checking database connections.
4. IDEC, Japan :
WindO/I-NV2 is a dedicated configuration software application for the
MICRO/I programmable display that allows you to perform the various
settings required for screen operation. After creating the project, we
download the project to the MICRO/I. The MICRO/I is equipped with a high-
brightness, color LCD with fast screen drawing speed, quick-response touch
switches, and high-speed communications to provide a comfortable man-
machine interface.
My Role in the Project: Programmer/Tester. Performed testing for
'Converter'.
My Responsibilities:
. Monitoring/Checking database connections. Done Bug Fixing for the latest
version of NV 3.0. Did development work for the support project called
'Converter' and 'Shellpa'.
