OBJECTIVE and TITLE

Procurement / Purchasing leadership role in corporate procurement which

will reap competitive advantages through my passion for driving down

expenses, writing ability, sourcing and negotiation skills, and management

experience

NOTE: A prospective employer will NOT have to provide medical insurance to

me as I am a military veteran with insurance

SUMMARY

My transition from an honorable 20-year military career to a dynamic,

Fortune-ranked company has been extremely satisfying. My 8.5-year tenure

with Burlington Coat Factory (Corporate HQ, $3.4B in sales) in the IT / MIS

and Procurement / Purchasing Departments was gratifying with the knowledge

I contributed to its success and expense reductions via implementation of

neo-Procurement and spend-under-management principles. Greatly reduced

maverick spends, consolidated vendors, enjoyed Accounts Payable

efficiencies, and realized greater quantity discounts. My talents include

understanding business principals, creating budgets, spend analysis,

procure-to-pay (P2P) efficiencies, supplier relationship management (SRM),

people skills, project management, thorough research of available

solutions, sourcing of vendors, writing Requests for Quote (RFQ), Proposal

(RFP), and Information (RFI), as well as authoring Standard Operating

Procedures (SOP) and editing informative company newsletters. I easily

network with all department heads within an organization to help them

understand the principles of modern procurement processes and tools and how

partnering with the Procurement Department will empower them for the common

goal of reducing expenses. My vast scope of knowledge includes traditional

vendor and contract negotiations, reverse auction (e-auction) methodology

and best practices, contract management and service level agreements (SLA).

I subscribe to dozens of procurement-centric trade journals,

organizations, newsletters, and blogs, as well as similar publications for

the retail and IT communities/fields.
