Objective / Goal Looking to work with a company or business where I

can use my experience in Telecommunications and LAN

/ WAN applications. I want to learn new areas in

the Telecommunications Industry to make me more

valuable. Looking to build my future while

providing for my family's needs while also helping

Installer / Service Technician ( Two Way Radio

)

I was responsible for the installations of Two Way

Radio communications for companies like Yellow Cab,

BFI Waste, Pullman Standard, Southern Ready Mix and

several Police Departments in the Birmingham area.

I also worked as an onsite technician where we

would install 2 Way radio units in vehicles and

main office area. Able to adapt and cope with

different situations. Enjoyed working on and

building Radio Towers. Highest was 200 ft. on Red

Mountain.

I was hired as a Telephone installer helper and

quickly worked my way up to the level of Service

Technician. After a few years and as the Company

grew I was put in charge of the Service Department

where I was responsible for daily outside Service

and Technicians in our Macon, Atlanta and Columbus

offices. I also held the position of Project

Manager and Sr. Technician which included Handling

all new installs and big add orders. Every aspect

from verifying what is needed to meet the

customer's needs to ordering and installing the

equipment. During my spare time I would support

our other technician's out in the field.

March 1999 - Present (Deltacom)

Area Manager Technical Services ( CLEC / Teleco

)

As Area Manager I monitor and assist with the day

to day technical needs of our customers in Georgia

and other areas. I hold training classes and work

with technicians in my area as a group or one on

one.

I assist with customer's demands on installations;

add orders and service in the field daily. Enjoy

running cable and other aspects of the job.

Assist and work with our network group on

installations, which include using our T-Berd

2209's to test the T-1/loop. Install and program

our CSU/DSU (Adtran) units, breaking out channels

for Internet or Frame. Program internal Adtran

Routers or program or an external Cisco Router to

connect to our network.

Certifications Voice - NEC Certified on all Systems from Key

(Voice / Data) systems and PBX. PBX Systems include the 2000IVS

(classic and IVS 2/IPS ). Master Technician on the

2000 systems, which allows me to Factory Certify

our technicians on the 2000 Basic system. Presently

working on the 2000IPS system so I can certify on

it also. I am also 2400 certified up to the ICS

System. Some Key Systems are the Elite Key Systems

(48 / 192) IPK / IPK II and previous models 6/16,

16/48, Mark II and the PRO I, II series. Present

systems are (SV8100 / SV8300) Basic and advanced.

Voice Mail - Certified with NEC on all NeaxMail

products, AD-8 / 40, and CTI, Telanophy

applications, along with related Active Voice

products. Present are Elite LX and present working

on UCB Server, which is also Call Center and AA

along with Voicemail.

Data - I have taken and received my CCNA

certification from Cisco and have worked on the

first of three tests to get my Cvoice

certification. The other option I would like to

obtain would be getting my CCNP, which is 4

separate tests. I am familiar with Network wiring

and setups, understand Routers and Switches as they

pertain to voice and data.

Education 1972 - 1975 ( Banks High School) Birmingham, Al

I was active in sports where I learned the meaning

of teamwork. I also served on the Student Council

and the year book committee.

1977 - 1978 (Jefferson State

Jr. College) Birmingham, Al.

I took night classes while working at Birmingham

Two Way Radio, to help me learn the basic of

Electronics, which also included a path to become

an Electronics Engineer.

Summary of

qualifications Certified on other Telecom equipment (Tadiran,

Toshiba, Harris Lanier, Telrad. Prostar, Nortel)

Experience and skills in working with technicians

/customers and holding training classes on new

equipment and applications.

I have worked on different manufactures of CSU/DSU,

Newbridge, and Adtran. Install T-1's for Voice and

Data applications, including CCIS, between NEC

PBX's (2000 / 2400). Point to Point circuits for

Frame.

Experienced with LAN terminology and applications.

Able to install terminate and test. (Cat 5 / 3,

10base -T).

Computer skills with Word, Power Point, and Excel,

creating documents and spreadsheets. Experience

with remote access to PBX systems and Voice Mail

Work with Customers Network LAN to integrate Phone

systems Voicemail to Customer Network or System

management and Applications to Exchange Email

Servers.
