ALFA TECH CAMBRIDGE GROUP, INC. Palo Alto, CA. Jan 2007 - May 2009.
CONSTRUCTION/PROJECT MANAGER.
Plan, organize, and manage entire design and construction process for large-
scale projects. Maintain relationships with clients and initiate new
projects. Responsible for project team relationships, architectural and
structural design management, supervising construction document production,
permit and entitlement process, general contractor selection, contract and
change order negotiations, scheduling, project budget, cost projections,
estimating, building code compliance, project development, overall quality
control, and certification of occupancy. Also, provide professional
training and support for Last Planner and LEED project implementation.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Managed Preconstruction and Construction for the PDL BioPharma
Project, Redwood City, CA. 419,622 sf and $92 million including data
center, kitchen and dining facilities, animal facilities (vivarium),
research and development labs, process development, office space,
libraries and meeting rooms. This was a fast-track project (12 month
construction schedule) with multiple construction document packages
(CP-1 Demolition & Under-slab Utilities, CP-2 Structural Upgrades, CP-
3 TI, CP-4 Service Yard Foundations, and CP-5 Service Yard Enclosures
and Landscaping). Managed the project team (client, consultants,
general contractor, design/build MEP subcontractors, and commissioning
agent) from the Basis of Design through commissioning and validation,
and the successful turnover.
. Managed the VE sessions for PDL BioPharma. This task produced over
$4,000,000 in savings in the construction budget. Singularly
responsible for the choice to use demountable walls in lieu of
conventional assemblies which created a $600,000 savings.
. Formed the ATCG LEED Services and Advocacy Group: Developed the ATCG
LEED consulting services for current and prospective clients in order
to define and implement their individual sustainable business
requirements. In addition, assembled an industry-wide diverse-
disciplined group of practitioners meeting regularly for the specific
purpose of sharing information and business development in the area of
sustainability.
. Managed and LEED AP for the Carlmont High School Music and Art
Building Project, Belmont, CA 22,000 sf and $12 million design/build
multiple-prime project. This project included, among other
sustainable components, a roof-mounted 26kW PV system, water
reclamation system, and LEED Gold certification.
. Managed Preconstruction, Design and Construction for several Apple
Stores throughout the U.S. Multiple High-Profile and Mall Apple Stores
ranging $3,000,000 to $27,000,000 with lease agreement, conceptual
project design and budgets, general contractor buy-out, OFI material
procurement, and project completion turn-over.
. Consulting Services for 2009 Apple Retail Store Prototype Singularly
produced a Design and Constructability Final Report analyzing the 2008
retail store prototype design, construction and actual project costs.
My report was the basis of developing the 2009 Apple Store Prototype
Design and Cost Projection Matrixes.

PROJECT MANAGER.
Plan, organize, and manage entire design and construction process for
multiple projects, simultaneously. Initiate new projects. Responsibilities
include project team relationships, architectural and structural review and
analysis, preparation of construction contracts, bidding, negotiations,
subcontractor selection, material purchasing, scheduling, project budget,
cost projections, estimating, building code compliance, project
development, overall quality control, and certification of occupancy.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Managed multiple interior build-outs at the San Francisco Centre, San
Francisco. Three separate retail spaces in excess of $4 million.

. Completed Multiple fast track projects in the Bay Area. In 20 months
managed 12 projects from conception to completion, budgets in excess
of $17 million. All had extremely condensed construction schedules,
every project deadline met.
. Managed Throckmorton Fire Station. This CM at risk project had three
separate phases (demolition, grading and building) and a $4.3 million
budget. The successful completion of this project was on schedule and
within budget. Managed entire process with the Marin County DPW,
Marin County Fire Department, neighbors and several other governmental
agencies.

. Managed the construction of the core/shell and interior build-out of
the new Yves St. Laurent Store, Beverly Hills. 10,000 sq. ft., three
levels in excess of $5.2 million. Completed project on-time and
within budget. "The best Yves Saint Laurent Store in the world"
(Owner's comment upon visiting the finished space).
. Supervised $6.3 million fast track interior of Crate and Barrel Retail
Store. 34,000 sq. ft., two levels. Met project deadlines despite
various architectural design modifications and material delays.
. Completed several Rolex Building Tenant Improvements (4 projects in
excess of $6 million; 21,000 sq. ft). Detected and resolved numerous
design conflicts between core building upgrades and tenant improvement
plans. Managed the complete modernization of elevator equipment and
cab within 60-day deadline. Brought in Omni-Net project one week
early and 2% under budget despite extensive changes in planning and
design.
. In response to company initiative for school projects, singularly
sought out and developed design/build project for the Santa
Monica/Malibu School District. Brought parties to the negotiating
