WORK EXPERIENCE:
1. UMass Medical School, MA:
June 2008- Present
Working as a Research Intern with Dr. Lucia R Languino on my thesis project
"Src kinase and Androgen receptor in Prostate Cancer." During my project I
learned prostate cancer cell line culture, running SDS gels, DNA
amplification, transient transfections, siRNA transfections, immuno-
histochemistry, immuno-fluorescence. Apart from working on my thesis I was
in-charge of conducting routine analysis of laboratory instruments,
calibrating them, documenting and placing laboratory related orders. After
following the protocols for the experiment, I also analyze my achieved
data, document and interpret them and present it during the weekly
meetings. I also helped in organizing the weekly meetings of laboratory
members and providing them with useful equipment and material. These
meetings usually follow with team discussions on the progress and useful
hints for the next step in the experiment.

3. Panacea Biotech Ltd., New Delhi, India
Jan 2006-Feb 2006
Completed six weeks industrial internship at the Vaccines and Biological
Research Centre of the company, where I learnt about vaccine production
against Japanese Encephalitis. The project dealt with the host causing the
disease, process of attack, production of vaccine, the available vaccine
and its future. At Panacea Biotec, research is going on for the production
of the vaccine against this virus. It was an exciting experience though
rather dangerous to work on this vaccine as live viruses were used in the
vaccine and which could attack the scientists working on it. Panacea is
also producing oral polio vaccine, then vaccine against streptococcus
pneumonia, tuberculosis, meningitis, typhoid, conjugate vaccines, and
recombinant vector vaccines. I also learnt about tissue culturing and how
these are maintained and kept in sterilized environment. I got a chance to
gain some real time experience, which is pertinent for future research in
the field.

Studied the different stages involved in the beer production, which are: -
Malting Barley, Crushing, Mashing, Filtration, Wort Boiling, Cooling,
Pitching, Filtration, Carbonation, Bottling and Packaging.

Worked in Clinical Laboratories and Blood Bank of the hospital as Summer
Intern. Studied details of various pathological examinations in Departments
