Vice President and Sector Chief Financial Officer for $3 billion Domestic
Institutional Banking business unit, which provided a full range of banking
and corporate finance services to U. S. financial institutions. Analytical
and planning work led to re-direction and turn-around of the Sector.
Oversaw activities of Sector's Controllers and Planning and Budgeting
Departments in eight lines of business. Responsible for all financial
management activities including: accounting and control; strategic
planning; budgeting and variance analysis; acquisition and divestiture
analysis; product, customer and market segment profitability
accounting/analysis; cost accounting; regulatory compliance; risk analysis
and control; treasury management and interest rate hedging. Sector turned
from major losses to profitability of 1.59% ROA.
Planning Officer, Consumer Banking Sector. Responsible for various
strategic projects for nationwide provider of financial services to
individuals and small companies. Identified and evaluated potential bank
acquisition candidates leading to the purchase of a $4 billion bank holding
company.
Analyzed other possible acquisitions and divestitures, including credit
card, merchant processing, travelers' check and personal loan businesses.
