OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Life Technologies
. Play a key role as part of a team of engineers in the invention of a
ground breaking systems method (currently in USPTO patent
application), based on single-molecule FRET event detection, that can
be used for fast and cheap genome sequencing.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Engineer III, LIFE TECHNOLOGIES, INC., Houston, TX 2008-Present
Software Developer, VISIGEN BIOTECHNOLOGIES, Houston, TX 2005-2008
Continued to work under new ownership (VisiGen Biotechnologies and Life
Technologies merger) for demonstrating excellent performance.
Single-molecule Event Detection Project
. Designed and maintained software solutions to detect weak biological
signals as well as data analysis tools, related to single molecule
genome sequencing based on FRET.
. Developed the detection software that reads stacks of images from a
fast CCD camera recording the same area in several spatially separated
color channels, then translates the coordinates from one color
quadrant into another, computes the pixel coordinates of the bright
objects (spots) in acceptor quadrants in order to get color
information about the same physical object, extracts the time-
dependent intensity of each spot, and then searches for color-changing
events, associated with FRET interactions.
. Enriched the detection software by creating unique algorithms.
Sr. Systems Programmer, BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE, Houston, TX 2002-
2005
. Provided web access to multiple scientific modules developed by other
team members as part of a web-based project (www.genboree.org);
enabled users to share genome annotations, browse, and access data.
. Developed and tested web access through Java Servlets and JSP pages,
user account registration, user rights management, visual layout, user
controls and other front-end development as well as managed and
maintained all back-end activities.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY (Continued)
Software Engineer, AMICAS, INC., Newton, MA 2001
. Enhanced the front-end and back-end of the configuration tools for
Amicas Server, which is a part of Amicas Internet-based solutions for
managing diagnostic medical images.
Programmer Analyst, ALAZAR, LLC, Washington, DC 2000-2001
. Designed and implemented the Form Editor, a tool for visual editing of
frames and dialogs.
. Provided JNI access to the Outlook Address Book for a Java-written
cross-platform application, targeted to the automated generation of MS
Word and Word Perfect documents.
Software Developer, NOVOSOFT, INC., Novosibirsk, Russia 1998-2000
. Implemented a tool which generated an SQL script to replicate an
existing Oracle schema, identified and eliminated differences in two
Oracle schemata by generating SQL scripts, and viewed/modified
existing Oracle schemata and their individual objects (tables, stored
procedures, access rights, etc.).
. Designed and developed an automated Pro*C and C++/OCI source code
generation tool for Oracle tables and external SQL statements.
