Efficient and consistent Transformation of UML Functional Requirements into
BPEL Specifications for SOA-Based Systems
January - December 2009
UTTYLER, Texas, USA
Description: The first step to develop any SOA-based system is to gather
the functional requirements from the client. A technique was proposed in
the project to capture these functional requirements in UML (Unified
Modeling Language) Diagrams and transform them into BPEL (Business Process
Execution Language) Specifications. Also, the consistency between the BPEL
specifications and the functional requirements is evaluated (qualitative
evaluation) employing the NFR (Non-Functional Requirements) Approach so
that, developed SOA-based systems are efficient.
Publications and Presentations:
"Transforming Functional Requirements from UML into BPEL to Efficiently
Develop SOA-based Systems." Published in Proceedings of On The Move 2009
Conference.
"Evaluating Consistency between BPEL Specifications and Functional
Requirements of Complex Systems using NFR Approach." Accepted for
presentation at 2010 IEEE International Systems Conference.
