Professional Experience

Change Management/Conversion Support

Apex Systems, Inc./Verizon Wireless, Warren, NJ ? May 2007 - Feb 2010

Supported conversion from a GUI based Change Management Tool (MKS Source

Integrity) to a Mainframe Based Change Management tool, (Computer

Associate's ENDEVOR) used by hundreds of developers. Worked as one of the

administrators for the ENDEVOR Tool for development, testing and Production

Support teams. Maintained ENDEVOR Tool and created many automated external

processes which interfaced with ENDEVOR to allow Verizon Wireless to move

their changes to their different Sandbox, Development, Testing and

Production environments across three datacenter instances.

Coordinated staging of Releases from one environment to the next in the

Software Development Life Cycle with developers, testing and Production

Support Teams. Worked with the development teams to resolve out of synch

issues with code prior to Release Implementation. Provided off-hours

support for Release implementations and for other tools the team supported

when the needs of the business dictated.

Created, documented and trained users on new and existing Change Management

Utilities used by managers, developers, testers, Configuration Management

and Production Support personnel in a REXX, ISPF panels and JCL environment

on the Mainframe. Utilities worked hand-in-hand with ENDEVOR, the COBOL

compiler and many other functions at Verizon Wireless to produce various

reports and other deliverables previously produced manually.

Main point of contact for Daily Environment Synch-Up jobs run through CA7.

Setup automated daily, weekly, monthly jobs to run off hours to keep

environment software in synch, perform automatic recompiles in testing and

development environments and run Daily Reports.

Created Concurrent Development reports run on demand by the user or

automatically whenever code was promoted up to the next stage in the

Component Life Cycle through ENDEVOR.

Maintained Change Management Software in ENDEVOR Tool for version control

and instance distribution.

Supported upgrade from MKS Integrity Client 2005 to MKS Integrity Client

2007.

Mainframe Cobol Developer

Computer Aid, Inc./Information Systems International Account, Mount Olive,

NJ ? May, 2006 - May 2007

Sole Mainframe Developer on interactive and batch SAS Micro Release

System. Providing 24 X 7 coverage for the mainframe pieces of the system.

Documenting all aspects of the Micro Release System for conversion to new

SAP system. Coordinating team meetings and all research into the existing

system.

Supported batch Cobol Debit/Credit system. Worked with COBOL II, JCL, REXX

Execs, CLIST and Dialog Manager Panels. VSAM Files, File-Aid, Panvalet,

OPCA Job Scheduling and some exposure to CA IDEAL. Part of rotating on-

call schedule. Exposure to some PL/SQL.

Change Management/Conversion Support

Butler International/Verizon Wireless Account, Bedminster, NJ ? November,

2005 - May, 2006

Worked on a team of five converting from Mainframe based to GUI based

Change Management tool. Conversion activities included setting up

information in MKS Source Integrity and Integrity Manager. Collecting data

on the mainframe from IBM's Mainframe Change Management tool SCLM. Sending

files over via FTP and NDM to LAN and other mainframe instances. Loading

Source Integrity. Supporting the initial release of Source Integrity.

Consolidating mainframe code into one library set on the mainframe.

Supported startup of a new mainframe datacenter instance. Moved mainframe

software from existing datacenter instance via NDM and converted to work on

new datacenter instance. Maintained Change Management software (JCL, REXX,

PROCs) in synch across all three datacenter instances and within Source

Integrity.

Rewrote mainframe/GUI promotion system. This process allowed users to

promote their changes to testing and production environments on all three

mainframe instances. Re-wrote many pieces in JCL and REXX. Added email

notifications in many places to notify users of Concurrent Development

situations, plus to notify the people doing the promotions what components

were promoted to what environments.

Added and modified jobs in CA7. Setup automated daily/weekly jobs to run

off hours to keep environment software in synch and run reports. Setup

other CA7 jobs that ran when triggered by the creation of a new dataset.

Account Management/Mainframe Development

Vercuity, Inc., Parsippany, NJ ? November, 2004 - November 2005

Daily interaction with over a dozen corporate clients performing customer

service telecom expense management activities. These activities were for

the Chargeback system and included Call Detail Reporting, General Ledger

file creation, defining business rules for processing, customer inquiries

on invoicing, database management, and interacting with telecom vendors on

customer's behalf.

Converted clients from HP3000 to IBM AS400 platform. This project included

testing monthly data runs on both platforms which meant converting COBOL

programs, JCL on HP to CL on AS400, and other testing activities.

Application Developer/Computer Programmer

Computer Sciences Corporation, Somerset, NJ ? May, 2000 - May 2004

AT&T, Somerset, NJ ? March 1998 - May 2000 (Outsourced to CSC)

Lead developer on AT&T's Aggregator Billing System serving approximately 10

million customers nationwide. Performed software development life cycle

activities on over twenty-five large-scale application development

projects. Coordinated all production maintenance work for team of twelve

developers.

Lead developer on major system rewrite that reduced main job flow from

eight or more hours per evening to two to three hours per evening. Rewrite

also converted parts of job flow to run independently from main job flow to

allow more flexibility in file transfers and to prevent system from falling

behind when major problems arose. This project produced processing and

storage savings of approximately $360,000 per year along with reducing

manual support needs significantly. This project was completed on time and

under budget.

Independently implemented changes to abend prevention module to reduce

weekly abends in main flow from three or more per week to nearly zero per

week.

Lead developer on system reporting rewrite that modified or created

approximately thirty jobs throughout the system that reported metrics to

internal AT&T metrics reporting group on time and under budget.

Responsible for training peers in the use of internally developed MVS

utilities and on AT&T's Aggregator Billing System. Responsible for

creating and updating training materials and utility programs. These

utilities were created using COBOL II, JCL, REXX, CLIST, Dialog Manager and

Easytrieve.

Created testing tool to automatically create transactions to fix accounts

stuck in our system and to trigger feeds needed from other systems for

accounts not yet processed. Created documentation on this utility and

trained my peers on its use in order to process thousands of accounts stuck

in our system. This utility also saved significant processing time and

money.

Serve as main point of contact for all MVS mainframe issues, including

change and configuration management tools. Developed internal web pages

used by hundreds of users internal to AT&T/CSC.

Computer Programmer

AT&T, East Brunswick, NJ ? February, 1993 - March, 1998

Served as a project lead for a team of six. Responsible for impact

analysis and design for new projects, configuration and change management,

designing and delivering customer presentations and training coordination.

Responsible for the maintenance, training and support of custom change and

configuration control tool supporting over 450 users. Developed and

maintained AT&T custom change management system, supporting over 50 million

lines of AT&T Billing System code. This system generates billions of

dollars of revenue annually. Developed custom integrity reports to verify

all components in a software release were delivered as designed.

Independently implemented email notification system for Change Control Tool

to notify users of concurrent development situations automatically.

Responsible for code management and synchronization across multiple AT&T

sites.

Managed project to perform scheduled maintenance on custom change and

control configuration tool. This project reduced database fragmentation,

improved response times and reduced downtime by 400%.

Served as webmaster for internal AT&T website. Developed static web help

pages, Perl functions to view datasets on MVS or UNIX sites on the web and

dynamic webpages created automatically on web server when datasets changed

on MVS.
