applications into the Banks General Ledger (Book of Records) which are
VSAM files. Also FCS acts as a source of information for valid company,
account and cost center details for applications out side of FCS.
Consequently the GL application should be controlled from bad data, any
batch delays and uninterrupted services. Some of the surrounding
systems to FCS are FCS online application ASC (Automated Suspense
Clearing) and NVS (National Validation System) which are CICS and DB2
based systems. ASC allows the user to clear the transactions that have
been charged to the designated Suspense Account/Cost center
combinations.
TAXBANDO (WBO) CCD & FXRSYS are called as FCS West General Ledger
applications
TAXBANDO - This application deals with the calculation of the Business
and Occupational Tax to be paid by the business operating out of the
State of Washington. Also produces the reports which are extremely

compliance. Also deals with the deductions in the tax process which
lowers the tax expense incurred.
Corporate Control Database - is repository of the units/Cost centers,
Companies for the BOA west cost applications.
FXRSYS - This application is source for foreign exchange rates across
the bank branches. It gets the feed from Reuters and processes the
rates and stores in the NOMAD database (on VM Operating system) and
will be used by different downstream applications.
The purpose of intranet General Ledger (iGL) application is to provide
a web-based interface for end users to perform data entry, posted
transactions inquiry, General Ledger master information inquiry
