* I was part of a team that architect and implemented a plan to open Wal-
Mart stores on a smaller scale, from an IT perspective. We were able to
reduce the hardware and software requirements needed to open smaller
scale stores. With this plan in place we were able to reduce the cost to
grand open a small store, thus saving Wal-Mart over $200,000 dollars per
store when utilizing this format.
* Research new trends and technologies and identify technologies that could
be used to benefit Wal-Mart, by either making current process more
efficient or reduce operating cost.
* Negotiated and reviewed contracts with vendors.
* During the time I worked in the Training area I was able to reduce the
amount of erroneous training content that was delivered to the field to
zero. This saved Wal-Mart in excess of $50,000 in hard pay back per
year. And at least $25,000 per year in soft pay back, in the form of
cost related to correct errors in content and re-distribute corrected
module content to the field.
* I was responsible for updated the Computer Based Learning system, aka
CBL, for use in countries outside of the United States.

* Trained new associates to use the tools provided to them, in order to
develop the techniques required to perform basic troubleshooting and
problem solving.
