. Designed, prototyped, and fabricated high fidelity, functional
scale models of military vehicles for use in radar research and
development.
. Created detailed CAD models from pictures and sketches using
SolidWorks of threat targets. Once the CAD model is generated,
a physical model is produced. The models are used by the
National Ground Intelligence Center for radar simulation and
target identification. The data collected enables military
radar operators to detect threat targets in real time.
. Assembly of these models requires manual dexterity and the use
of hand tools. Fabrication provided experience in machine shop
tools and processes-CNC and manual milling, turning, drilling,
tapping. Other processes used were metal casting, plastic
casting, laser cutting, and SLA rapid prototyping.
