Franklin analyzed existing WBS codes and new naming convention
proposed by global headquarters, did risk analysis, coordinated
with business users and configured the system, conducted tests
with users, also did post-implementation support.
2. Cash Management. Feb 2006 - Jun 2007. This project is divided
into 3 functionalities, that is central EBS (Electronic Bank
Statement) distribution, In House Banking, Standardized Third
Party Payment, it uses IDocs to transmit data from company to
bank, also introduced in house bank and cash pool concept to the
region. Franklin coordinated business users in the region,
analyzed user requirement and project scope, standardized related
business process, configured system as well as interface, tested
with user and bank, went live successfully within tight time
frame. He built excellent business relationships with business
users and supporting staff in Citibank Asia Pacific.
3. Upgrade SAP from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. Jun 2007 - Sep 2007. Franklin
participated regression tests and UAT, and responsible for Unicode
conversion part (previously use MDMP to support double byte
language), conducted conversion activities, and coordinated users
in China, Taiwan and South Korea for UAT test with logon in their
own language.
4. Sales Planning Project. Mar 2005 - May 2005. This is to use
planning function of CO-PA module, Franklin analyzed user
requirement, configured system, collected data and went live with
user.
5. Workflow: Payment Block. Feb 2004 - Jun 2004. Introduced SAP
standard workflow in accounts payable module, gathered user
requirement and configured in system, enable user to have more
control between invoice and payment process.

This client has totally 11 sites (including headquarter), besides
coal mining, also makes semi finished products. Franklin
participated whole process, from pre-sales phase to implementation
and post implementation support. In pre-sales phase, helped to
promote SAP system (version 4.6C) and implementation service to
client, designed architecture of FI/CO module, coordinated to
standardize business process in 11 sites of the client,
identified inconsistency of business data (especially fixed asset
depreciation) in client's previous system, corrected in SAP
system. During the project and post implementation support,
Franklin built solid business relationship with all levels of
staff of the client.
2. Syngenta China Ltd. Duration: Apr 2001 - Jul 2001. Novartis
Agribusiness and Zeneca Agrochemicals merged in 2000, former
Novartis in China merged with part of Zeneca China, data merging
is required, Franklin did analysis, re-designed organization and
part of business process, did data merging and involved in ongoing
(remote) support while doing other projects.

In Jul 1997, Franklin is transferred to the new created BASF holding

various locations in China, some are manufacturing site, some are
representative office. Franklin participated all phases of roll out
projects, started from As-is and To-be phase to introduce SAP to
business users and collect user requirements, then discuss with
user to prototype and document business process, configure and
conduct unit test, integration test and user acceptance test, then
collect and prepare initial data to go live. After go live,
continue work on post implementation support and enhancement as
well as bug fixing. During these projects, Franklin built good
relationship with all levels of business users and technical
people, as well as external consultants.
2. BASF Korea Ltd, Fixed Asset Module of roll out project. Jan 1998.
During the roll out of BASF Korea affiliate, Franklin participated
configuration and go live phase of fixed asset module, analyzed
business requirement of depreciation rule according to local
requirement, applied 'changeover' method in SAP. Franklin also
contributed his extensive knowledge of SAP to business users in
ongoing support.
3. Fixed Asset module of South East Asia, Jun 1999 - Dec 1999, this
covers 5 countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan,
Indonesia), to standardize business process of fixed asset module.
Franklin participated prototyping and configuration phase, attended
meetings with business users (some are on site, some are via
teleconference), gathered existing process, requirement, analyzed
impact with corporate standard and regulation, and did
configuration in SAP system. During this project, Franklin built
good relationship with business users in the above mentioned
countries.

this is first SAP R/3 implementation in China, Franklin joined part
of design phase which gathered requirement from business users in
FI/CO module, learned configuration knowledge in G/L (including
integration with MM/SD/PP module), A/P, A/R, AM and CCA. After
design phase, he participated unit test and UAT (User Acceptance
Test) phase, final data collection and reconciliation, did
reconciliation of A/P and AM module for accounting department, also
passed knowledge of daily operation to accounting staff. The
project went live in January 1996, after that, Franklin continue
worked in accounting department to coordinate between business
users and technical team to make enhancement and bug fixing of the
system. In mid of 1996, he collected business data and requirement,
helped to implement PA module.
2. Yang-tze BASF Styrene's Co. Ltd, Sep 1996 - Mar 1997
This is affiliate of BASF in China, Franklin partially travelled to
the site and involved in configuration, UAT, go live and post
implementation support, implemented G/L, A/P, AM and CCA module.
3. BASF Hong Kong, Dec 1996 - Jan 1997
This is Eastern Asian regional headquarter, Franklin participated
go live activities, did reconciliation and helped to gather
requirements on cost center assessment functionality.
4. Business Process Coordination, Jan 1997 - Jul 1997
After implementation of SAP, the company is pursuing standardize
business process and document it. Franklin helped to work between
finance, warehouse, manufacturing and sales department, gathered
existing process and documented, built an mechanism to document all
process (existing and new created), and review these process every
6 months.
