SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
I have experience in the wood industry from the job I held during college at Barnes Millwork. There I
learned to supervise personnel, use different management styles, and conduct safety maintenance
inspections. After a near fatal accident in the shop, I learned to become part of a team whose aim was to
establish and teach the importance of a safe work culture.
At Fluor, I worked in the HSE Tech 1 position on a FGD coal burner project where I learned to grow as a
leader and team player as well as a safety professional. Working under the supervision of experienced
safety experts has made me aware of specific tools and behaviors necessary to be a leader and
participant in the daily maintenance of a safe work culture. Working with the client has made me aware of
the importance of communication and cooperative work efforts. My strengths in communication, social
skills, and technical safety information have increased over the twelve months I have worked at Fluor.
One of the most significant changes that have taken place during my employment has been my increased
knowledge of not only the importance of safety procedures but also specific ways to help implement
those practices.
