EXPERIENCE

MONTGOMERY COUNTY PRE-TRIAL SERVICES Caseworker

2007 - Present

Responsible for conducting assessments, investigations, and case planning

to create exit strategies for defendants incarcerated and awaiting trial.

Duties include initial screening, case management, & coordination of

services prior to defendants being released. Completing reports, collecting

statistics, and ensuring the safety & security of the community.

YOUNGSTOWN MUNICIPAL COURT Probation Officer

2000 - 2007

Responsible for the pre-sentence investigations of defendants in the

municipal court system. Duties include investigating and creating pre-

sentence, post sentence, and electronically monitored house arrest reports

and bond reports. Duties also include making sentence recommendations in

the areas of treatment, fines, and jail time based on the defendant's

instant offense, criminal record, and social history. Attend and testify

in court at Probation Violation Hearings. Manage caseload from SLIP

Program "Suspended License Intervention Program", clients involved in

program with suspended operators' license. Completing background checks on

clients prior to sentencing utilizing LEADS and NCIC.

Responsible for clients with serious emotional disturbance including dual

diagnoses. To prevent more restrictive services or out-of-home placement

and to promote age-appropriate psychosocial growth. Assist in implementing

a behavioral intervention plan for the client. Implement alternative

activities to redirect challenging behaviors. TSS uses various

interventions including; Positive behavioral reinforcement, Emotional

Support, Crisis intervention techniques.

1997 - 2000

Responsible for the counseling of residents in a medium security

correctional institution, including individual and group counseling,

preparing individual program plans, and directing case work services.

Compile, study, and interpret occupational, educational, and economic

information in making and carrying out goals and objectives. Duties also

included creating and maintaining a variety of standard narrative,

statistical summary and operational records, reports, and logs. Promote

positive community relations and utilize community services.

EDUCATION

I earned a Bachelor of Science majoring in Criminal Justice and

Psychology from Youngstown State University and am in the process of

completing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from YSU.
